The 'old' automatic for me was the only part of the car I did not enjoy when driving it. At slow speeds the throttle was an on/off switch making the car buck N dip. Hard to look bro'tastic on the boulevard when the car is breaking your neck.

The manual was also a bit tricky at times, my 'professional' co-driver having missed a couple shifts on the track due to some notchiness.

Thus, I welcome the DCT to the R8, having driven the TT-S with DCT on the track, I was made a fan of the "flappy paddle" gearbox.

Watching the steering wheel, it looks like that takes some serious skill. I don't know if I'm ever letting go of the wheel and letting it go through 2 rotations like that while snow drifting. Maybe I am, I dunno lol.
