Default Leaking valves after valve job, any ideas before I give up?

After discovering an exhaust valve leak on #4, the head was sent in and got a new valve and 3 new valve guides. After installing the head the #4 exhaust valve no longer leaks, but now the intake valve leaks in 4 and intake/exhaust leak in the other cylinder ( leak down test confirmed ) Does anyone have any ideas how this could have happened before I give up on it? The timing is correct, valves have been properly lashed and all that I can think of is maybe the head wasn't put back together properly or there is some mystery step that was missed in the head reconstruction. Thanks all, I hope no one has to go through this because I'm pretty much hating life right now. Thanks!

Ps this is the same vehicle described in Willitays post here in the na forum.

What are the valve clearances cold and how did you measure? Have you tried a leakdown test with the cam out or the lash adjusters backed way off do you know there is no preload? If the clearances are correct and the valves are closing the valve face/seat, rings are the only other ways out besides the head gasket. With the head off does the cc hold water?

Did the leakdown show zero our close to zero or was it just lower than ideal? Were the seats replaced and the valves/seats lapped? If they heated the head to install the new guides, could some have slipped out a bit?

Sorry about all the ?'s, thinking out loud

Thanks race, All of the valve work was done by a valve shop so I'm not sure how they checked the clearances. We only tried a leak down with the lash adjusters set to spec. We did not fill the chamber to view any leakage all of the escaping air was from an exhaust/intake port, not from the oil filler. We were able to hold 30 pst at a 50 psi max. Since a shop did the entire valve service, Im not sure how the work was done, I just expected it to be good to go. Boy was I wrong. Thanks for the feedback, I will get these ?s to the valve shop to see what their procedure was. Thanks again race, I fear the end of subaruage is near for me.
