Default Grounding Kit = Coil(s) going bad???

Hey Guys,
We have owned my wife's car 05 rs for 80k miles. We bought it from a fellow Nasiocer with 29k on it. He had a very nice, neat, and rather advanced grounding kit on it. We never took it off, as I am amazed how much it helps.
The only issue is that we are on our 4th coil on the car. When the coils start to go bad (sometimes it only takes 10k miles) it is always after/during a good rain. The motor runs like crap and barely runs. I pop the hood and you can hear the coil snapping and zapping. Last time I found a ground that had come loose and thought it was the issue. I fixed it and popped on a new coil. Now 15k later (it doesn't take long she puts 500miles on a week). We parked it three days ago and it rained for 24hrs, I went to move it today and all the same symptoms are back. It barely stayed running at all. Flashing CEL and everything.

Does any one have any ideas, am I assuming the wrong culprit here?

A grounding kit will not negatively effect your car

Okay, Any specifics would be greatly appreciated. The car is at Subaru for 100k service (timing belt, water pump, thermostat, unexplained rpm climbing). I should be getting it back tomorrow. I will start looking through it again.

using aftermarket coils or subaru coil? Sounds like something is shorting out somewhere, especially if you have issues after a rain. Could be a wire in the coil harness, maybe an issue with the plug wire or bad plug? when were they changed last? Possible rub through on a harness for the coil pack on the motor. ****ty ground for the coil pack. Or, you might really be driving a volkswagon passat... :P

hahaha... thanks meepers. I definitely replace the cheap stuff first. It had new wires and plugs with the last coil. I am using aftermarket coils. I do think it might be a harness. We just drove it 200 miles in the rain and not an issue (I did throw a spare coil in the car just in case, maybe that is when you know you have a problem lol). A friend of mine thought maybe water was getting in to the spark plugs and grounding them out.
