Default 2nd Gen legacy low idle

I'm not sure if this is just a Subi thing, but I've noticed that my Legacy idles a lot lower than most other cars I've had, and even shudders at idle sometimes (while in gear). The engine does need a tune-up and such, but I've heard mixed things about this issue (some say that it's normal for the Boxer engine, others say that it could be a serious issue). Just want some peace of mind about it.

thanks

factory setting for idle is 700-750 for ej251/253. FYI: The tach indicator starts @ 500. The markings can be misleading.

IACV being dirty is a common problem on higher mileage or 5+ year old n/a ej engines. It probably would be a good idea to clean and reseal yours in any case.
