I can do it for $350 plus parts, but I'm not available for a couple of weeks. I can have it done in less than a day.

Wat. That's the most expensive quite for a Subaru clutch I've ever heard of. Even dealers are around 60% of that cost. Sounds like they saw you as a sucker when they quoted you that.

I did my clutch by myself a few months ago and it sucks. I totally agree with moving the motor to get access. I dropped the tranny and it was a nightmare getting it aligned without help. Air tools help alot. Get a creeper so your not laying on concrete.

Search for clutch replacement pictoral and use that as a rough guide. Most of all make sure you have a 3/16 punch long enough to get those stubborn ****ing roll pins out. With the time and effort it can be done. Just have a few buddies to muscle that bitch around. And once again stay away from duralast you will pay for it in the long run. Im an example.

Oh man.
This is awesome

Anyway. One of you guys mentioned the flywheel? is it recommend to replace that as well on a subie?

I've only had a flywheel resurfaced once.... and I've done quite a few transmission jobs on non subies.
