Default Bluetooth Call Quality Issues

Is anyone else using their bluetooth connection with the handsfree calling?

Mine is terrible quality. It sounds like I have my head out the window going 80mph and that is just sitting in the driveway with the air off and the windows up.

I thought maybe it was my phone (crappy older blackberry) but I tried my wife's (newer android phone) and it was just as bad.

I'm using an Iphone 4 and have made a few calls with it. The incoming reception is better than my 2012 Jeep, and I've had no complaints from anyone on the other end.

I recognize your screen name, did you know ascott at all? I used to go down to the dragon with him and we went to an SCCA prosolo in Atlanta a few years ago.

Yeah, Inky (ascott) and I are friends. I went with you all to the Atlanta Pro that trip too. I used to have a black Street Mod 2002 WRX way back when, the one that got whored out that Pro due to everyones car breaking we went with. It got totalled by an old lady when I was up at the Peru tour even several years ago. I had a bunch of cars since, but back to a Suby now.

It's been great for me. Huge improvement over the Pioneer nav I have in my WRX in sound quality. I can't hear myself on the other end but nobody has complained about it. Did you try adjusting the mic level?

I think adjusting the mic level did the trick. For some reason mine was cranked all the way up, I took it all the way down and all the background noise is gone.

Thanks!

Well say hi to Andrew for me, this is Phil. I've actually been in Atlanta for almost 6 years now, just got the BRZ about 6 weeks ago. It's my 9th Subaru though, I've had a few.

Also the rubber phone cup holder blocks the mic on my DROID and people can't hear me when in that.

Mine works great, except that when I get in the car and it first starts to stream music over bluetooth, it sounds all garbled. I have to turn off bluetooth on the phone and then turn it back on again and then everything is fine.

Phone is a HTC Evo 4G LTE running ICS.

My HTC Rezound has had no problems so far, streaming music or phone calls. I did have to mess with the mic volume on the car though to make it sound better.

Bluetooth has been one of the few things about this headunit that I've enjoyed. The Satelitte Radio/GPS has been fairly crappy but bluetooth streaming for music and calls have both been clear on my iPhone 4S.

People can not hear me once I am going over 40 mph. It is very annoying. My toyota tundra is dead silent on the other end. How do you turn the mic down?
