Whoa, I'm hearing about an inbounds avy at Crystal today on the I-5 runout from Northway near O Meadows. Buried some chick for 10-15 minutes. Luckily a lot of people had their avy gear and were able to dig her out. There's one reason I ride with my avy gear on heavy days inbounds. Scary ish.

^ word. Tree wells are also insanely dangerous now too. I got caught chest deep today when I railed some too close.

Today I shared the chair with some guys whom pulled their buddy from one on Sunday (inbounds).
They lost him, did a search after he didn't show up and went back up.
Followed his track and found him upside down in a well. Apparently they arrived just as he finished convulsing. He was unconscious and purple when they pulled him but breathing (shallow). He was placed on high flow o2 using a non-rebreather and is fine now.

Be safe out there, ride in packs, and communicate well.

Whoa scary stuff. I got caught in an avy on high Campbell a few years back. Thankfully I was able to get my feet under me and ride out. Not totally sure it was a break vs sluff. Either way I got out fine, but the skier that was also caught kept going under and popping back out. Luckily when he came to a stop he was above the snow, but had banged up his knee. It was a pretty experience to feel the show coming over my shoulders...

I heard alpental was real good today also. Im looking forward to making some tracks on Saturday.

Yesterday was beyond epic at Bachy. Thigh to waist deep blower pow (high was 15*). Wasn't even riding my pow board, that's how light it was. My '62W Carbon Credit is too much fun to leave home.

agreed- super light and epic! i did a couple of cone turns before the lifts starting spinning, that were waist deep and deeper at some parts

I enjoyed everything but the crowds. did you see that fight at like 9.15am in the lift line at pine martin? some ppl had a very agressive attitude especially in the early morning lines. Also, saw a old lady push out a teenage girl out of the chair right as it was loading!!

Missed that crap. Parked at Skyliner and we stayed there until NWX opened. No lines over there at all. I was watching the Pine cam and it looked like a weekend line.

Some pics from yesterday

This site is HTML5 at it's best. The amount of info that is conveyed in here and how it is displayed is simply amazing.

Another great day at bachelor. They were reporting 1"overnight so there weren't many people there first thing. But there was at least 4" of fresh dry pow by the time it opened at 9. And that was 4" on top of the 5' that has fallen this week. Rode from 9-11 and got in 8 runs. They reported a daytime total of 8".

5 pow days for me this week. 6' has fallen and temps have been below 30* the whole time. Tomorrow is supposed to be bluebird. Merry Christmas.

yah, its been great this week at bach- best conditions I've seen it in December here- 126'' base! we did the trifecta yesterday- hiked the cone, rode NW lift for morning freshies and finished the day hiking and powder lapping mt tumalo.

here's a unedited NW lift tree run that i made last Tuesday, when it was 10 f and 16''

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuyU-TmXx9M

hope everyone has been gettin good riding in during the holidays

Got sloughed off a cliff today at Crystal. Definitely a few scary moments but fortunately the cliff ended up being pretty small (10-15 ft). Made it out ok though. Other than that, awesome day in Northway. No crowds, good snow, good vis. Can't complain.

Hood was absolutely bombing today. Some parts got up to 16" yesterday, a few more today.

Had 1st laps in knee-high powder, was a lot of fun.

Even if youre not from around here, that blows hard. A friend of mine had his 2001 burton custom stolen a long time ago while at crystal. I saw one similar on Craigslist the other week so picked it up for him for Christmas. Looking at it closer, we actually think it was his board. :S

Headed to whistler tomorrow. Unfortunately a week too late, but thats the risk of planning trips. Anyone have any tips on staying at creekside? Ive never stayed in this area before. What are some recommendations for apre and good food.

Lol i didnt even notice the location for the thread, was so pissed i thought this was the general one. Oh well, i board this area enough for it to count lol.

Mine was a Burton Custom X. I was visiting my GF's family for Xmas in Michigan, decided to hit a slope while here.

I hate to say this.........but I've only had this issue at "poor/****ty" slopes. I've never had issues at Whistler/Colorado etc. It's only when I or friends visit crap slopes that we have **** stolen.

I'll be watching Craigslist/eBay for the next week, I'll even call the local ski shops to let them know. Mine has a dent on the edge, which would actually destroy the value for when he tries to sell it. Delta Airlines did it and paid me full price for the board lol.
