strangely, I don't think I've had any of those days this year.

Also, the boa knob on my boot gave out today and wouldn't hold tension past a certain point. thankfully I've got two boa knobs on the boot and swapping them seemed to fix it. May send email to them and see if they'll ship out some new knobs. I really like the Insanos, but if this is going to be a problem, i'm gonna have to find some new boots.

Joel, sadly...
All of my boa boots have had similar problems.
Boa will send you free knobs, cable, etc... I highly recommend scoring spares and keeping them packed.

I guess all boots can fail, but at least traditional laces are straight forward and easy to score.

(I do have a pair of Burton Rules sized 9.5 with 3 hours on them that I don't want)

It was bottomless champagne at Bachelor today, and bluebird on the east side of the mountain. Was 20* in the parking lot when I left at 12:30!

Love my new board so much. Borrowed a set of Union Contact Pro from my friend and love those too. Ordered a set of Union Atlas this afternoon for $169 shipped through Dogfunk. Stoked!!

Thankfully I had a enough tension that I could ride. I would've been very unhappy if I wasn't able to ride the pow today. It was pretty rad even though I got a late start. Of course, I would've just rented boots if it came down to it.

I actually tried on the Nike Ites yesterday. I've been using some sort of speed lacing system for the past 5 years (boa or Burton's lacing) and it felt weird to lace up boots. They seemed like really comfy boots though. With the exception of today's mixup, I have really liked the consistent tension you get from the boa system. seems like i'd have to make adjustments a couple times on lace boots. start of the day, once after warmed up, lunch, after warming up after lunch. I guess I do that a little with the boas, its just really easy to do.

I have both of those bindings and really like them. I'm a size 10 boot and have the Contact Pros in l/xl and the Atlas in m/l. I might try and find a trade on the Atlas for the bigger size. they both fit, but the Atlas is maxed out and the base is a tight fit. What I love about both bindings is that you don't really feel them. With my Rome Targas I was on last year, they were pretty stiff so you could feel them while you ride. Both of these bindings just fade to the back of your mind when you strap 'em in.

I totally want to throw my summer wheels on, but i'm hoping for a couple more days also. Of course, I could always just take the outback.

Had an awesome day last Saturday at Snoqualmie. Started the morning off with freshies over at West. They had been closed all week for the snowstorms we got so it was my first stop. I got up there a little late so Wildside was tracked out a bit. Ended up doing a couple laps in 360 bowl. There's a drop in there that's pretty fun. Don't have to carry too much speed into it and you land about 8'-10' down. Landing is pretty mellow and only one other person had hit it. No one else was hitting it after me so it was pretty fun to scope my landings from the chair.

After that strolled on over to Alpental for the Geneva McQueen Shred-a-Thon (proceeds went to Chill.org). I was expecting everything to be super tracked out, but we found the goods in the trees just before shot 6. I'd heard from people that shot 6 was also really good, but we didn't make it back there. After lunch went through the upper gate, over knoll 1, and down into Trashcan.

All-in-all, with the pow and blue skies, I'd have to say it was the best day of the year for me...so far.

Thanks for the tip here. Customer service got back to me this morning (contacted them late Friday) and had me fill out a form on their site. Hopefully I get something soon.

I wear an 11 and ordered my Atlas in L/XL. My friend was saying he had to change the straps in his contact pro L/XL to the small size strap because the L/XL straps wouldn't cinch down enough. He said I should have gotten size M. Sounds like crap to me but I will find out when I get back from the beach. I'm excited about these bindings. So much lighter than the Head bindings I've been riding for years (multiple pairs).

These were from Saturday. Such a crazy sick day. One of the best of the year. Cold, deep, blue and it wasn't crowded at all.

^^I got a sweet onesie from my lady friend's dad too......

FYI April 6th is Retro Fools Day at Stevens. I'd be there in my onesie, but I'll be in Whistler instead.

Got a great corn pow harvest on Saturday at Stevens. Hiked lower Rooster and got a close up look of the Absinthe crew's handiwork. I've never seen so many tracks off Rooster before, pretty cool to see first hand.

Almost didn't go today because the report looked bad. 2" overnight but it was the heavy variety. Ended up going and we had a blast. Got some great turns and boosted some cornices. Forecast is looking up for this weekend. All below freezing and 8-18" through Sunday.
