Default FP 71 HTA anyone running these?

I'll be in the market for a new turbo soon, looking to upgrade from my Blouch 18g running 310whp(91)...

my goals are 350 stock loctaion(91 pump w/ tmic). My priority is a hard punch(full boost/TQ) at the lower end (~4k). I'm interested in these turbo's below. I'm looking for anyone running these especially the FP 71HTA. Please give constructive insight on these if you or someone you know is running these, Thanks.

FP 71HTA -most interested

and before you start spouting the "use the search button", I have and I've found nothing on the FP in comparison the the rest.

I come from the dsm world (i have an 11 sec small turbo full weitght dsm). the 71 is bad ass. dsm guns are running the fp 68hta deep into the 10s. To take advantage of it you NEED to run at least e85. I'm on a small 16g running 27psi on e85 my dsm pulls hard. Ppl run too little boost on these (decent) sized turbo's in the subaru world to really maximize the power. On pump you will defiantly see a power increase, but imho it's not close to bang for buck. Look into e85 or something bigger turbo wise. I don't see why you can't hit your power goals right now on e85.

Well, ethanol is VERY enticing for me but being in Nor Cal we have 1 station about 20 miles away...so for DD its not practical, so I'm stuck with the piss water we have here. I came across the 71hta after my evo buddy started talking about it.

I called FP and they just released the 71HTA for the sti last month. I guess that's why I can't find anything on it. From what they said it's the replacement for the 68hta. On paper it's exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm really not brave enough to be a guinea pig, so I might hold back awhile and wait to decide between this and the Dom 2.5XT-R

Here's what they have posted:

"The FP 71HTA™ turbocharger for the Subaru WRX/STI features the 71mm HTA™ compressor section with your choice of 64MM stock appearing cover or 84MM Flow Advancement Port™ compressor cover coupled to the TD05H 8cm2 turbine section. This combo produces the fastest spool and transient response possible in any Subaru based turbocharger. The FP 71HTA™ flows 51LB a minute capable or producing upwards of 425WHP."

what dyno? and what fuel? I'm running on 91 and a low reading dyno. example my "stage 2" came in @ 279whp at 18psi, my base run was ~220whp

93 octane on an Australian dyno which is apparently real numbers and 298 was my base line but it just really didn't want to make power after that it was 296 and 289 torque

i'm looking at the fp 71hta with the 84mm compressor, ported and external waste gate. does anyone know what this would compare to 16/18/20/25g? what kind of power could you expect to see with this turbo as well? i really wish someone would make a quality 25g for subies. i'm not gonna play roulette with a ebay turbo.

How the 71HTA turbo new? Guy I know has had this turbo on his 06 WRX for 2 years. Its ok, nothing crazy IMO. I just pulled it off his engine today (blown head gaskets and worn rings). Turbo looks fine after 2 years of SCCA abuse, had 1/4 quart of oil sitting in it but that was from the Grimspeed AOS becoming a oil pump when the rings let go.

There is a thread already made on this turbo that explains pretty much everything about it!
