Hey guys,
I am currently seeking to make the JDM style rear bumper vents to fit the USDM rear bumper. Currently, they are the red reflectors. The JDM rear bumpers are different and therefore, the JDM vents are not a bolt on part for our bumpers (like all the other good stuff for models outside the U.S.). Please see my thread here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea....html?t=164272 Read the first post for a summary. But basically, the project has been on hold because of the high cost of making a mold and producing this. I will continue to develop this if i get more interest so I am opening this up to you guys for response/feedback. If you have responded on legacygt.com already, please keep your posts over there so i dont double count the number of people interested. Basically, I am NOT collecting money up front. I am just an engineering, looking to do something fun and for our cars on the side. And because of this, I am not going to front money for something where I will lose a ton of money on. I would like to see over 150 people interested before I think I could even possibly break even. And that would be charging alot more than i think people are willing to pay. so, 200 people would be awesome. But dont think it is going to happen.... Just let me know. Also, if you guys have hook ups with mold people, please let me know! I think I can handle the CAD work and a prototype. But all that will be pointless if the molds will cost me the equivalent of a car! Thanks, Scott

I didnt want to fill this thread up since it was on the other thread. First post says to reference post 36:
This is the JDM vent held up to my USDM bumper. You can see the curvature is not the same. Ask W1cked, no matter how much trimming or modding or squeezing you try to do, the JDM one will not fit our USDM bumper ![]() and here is the JDM ones which I am trying to make look as close as possible to: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I guess no traffic over here. Maybe I should post in general topics?
I just need more interested owners that are not already on legacygt.com |

Hey guys,
I will try and update here but I will regularly visit legacygt nowadays more often. This is an update: As a regular individual, I would have to put up the money up front to make such a large order and i dont have the means to do that right now. I dont think anyone would put deposits down to help me pay for the material and mold to get done. At this point, I may make them off my 3D abs plastic printer. It would cost at least $100 in time and materials to make so if people are that interested, I may make a small batch. It takes about a day to print a set. so, it would be a one off type of thing for now since I can not afford the molding process. So, I dont know if people are willing to pay that much but I am going to go ahead and work on the prototype and if people are interested, I will sell them something that matches my prototype. I will try to have pictures and a prototype done in the next few weeks |
