Rebuilt 2001 2.5 after a timing belt mishap and a month later it starts smoking real bad. Did compression test, all cylinders at 200 psi, took heads and had new seals put in, Now with the piston and cylinder walls slightly exposed, how can you tell if rings need replaced? If at all.

I don't think you can without removing the pistons. Maybe your valve seals are bad and dumping oil in the cylinder?
