Default Car crawls when put into gear(auto)

I've found another subie I'm thinking about looking at as a repair project, I'm just looking for other peoples opinions or guesses at this point. It's an 03' legacy 2.5L auto. The owner says it starts and runs, but when put into gear it'll only crawl, more throttle does not result in more movement.

Is this likely a bad transmission or something else? I've never had a transmission present a symptom like that but I could see it being possible? It's got about 120k miles on it also.

Thanks for any tips guys, and I apologize if I'm in the wrong forum.....not knowing what the issue really is I stuck it here.

Could be as simple as a stuck brake.

Yes, but this only crawls lol, no matter how much you push on the gas pedal.

When you press on the gas, does the engine still increase in RPM and whatnot, but it just stays on crawling?

That's funny

As the previous poster wrote, does the RPM change when you floor it in D? Also, what happends in N and R when you push on the gas pedal? It'll help pinpointing the issue.

I had the same thing happen to my 07 2.5i and it turned out that one of the drive axles popped out of the transmission. You can check the front two directly from the engine bay.
