Default Why is there no sprayer on the rear window?

Not sure how many models and for how long this has applied, but on my 2012 2.0i base there's no sprayer for the back window wiper, which makes it almost completely useless. It's weird because there's a position on the stick that looks like a rear window being sprayed, just below the intermittent setting... that should mean it's an option. Who the hell makes something like that an option? Why don't they just make airbags and seatbelts options too?

Turn the rear wiper control knob all the way clockwise or counter clockwise for rear wash. It is a momentary contact - it does not have a click position. You may have to hold it for more than 5 or 10 seconds if it has never been used to prime the rear washer line. Further information is on page 3-71 in the US owners manual

I'll go test it but I've done it and nothing happened. For that matter I've inspected it several times and never seen a place where fluid could possibly come out.

Edit: of course I never thought to actually look up... took a while to prime like you said. Thanks.

No Impreza sedan came with a rear wiper in the US (and Canada too, I think). I'm pretty sure about that.

Why would you spray a window with no wiper?

I have a hatch dumb****s, I wouldn't be looking for a sprayer if I didn't have a wiper.

Calling names doesn't really help you. Your first post didn't even ask for anything, it just intelligently ranted on the fact that the 2012 does not have a spray, and that its an option, which you obviously know better.

However, had you actually asked why you can't seem to spray your rear window, you would have been told to:

a) check your washer fluid level (as usualy the 2 pumps are at different levels, so sometimes one spray works while the other doesn't),
b) have someone listen under the hood for buzzing when you activate your rear spreay as per your user's manual, to rule out a pump/connector/fuse issue
c) continuously activate the rear spray for 10-15 secs to prime the pump as the entire length of the hose needs to be filled before the fluid comes out. Takes time.

As for the nozzle, look around the 3rd brake light. The hole isn't that big...
