Whoa...huge developments while I was in a meeting!

Hearing that there is no quality issue and cars are being held for the sake of being held, is pretty much the best news I could have gotten at this point.

It sucks that this was necessary, but I guess I understand how the way the system was designed allowed people to take advantage of it and lead to this.

Mike, thanks for all your help and the effort you put into NASIOC. It is greatly appreciated. It definitely shows that you are trying to do the right thing since you have corrected your order process to help account for the system change instead of continuing to pile up "on hold" orders for customers.

Soooo...I guess I just wait more...huh...

Nice!

Looks like things are starting to happen now; getting the real story about the delay, cars are showing up...

Don't know yet. I will let you know when/if I get the number from my dealer. I ordered on 8/8 if that helps.

Having ordered 10/5, in georgia, and i'm the only one in this entire region ordering, I hope I get my car in like 4wks lol.

It had an allocation period of January 2013 on subarunet when he ordered it, but that seems to be more linked to their amount of ordered premium cars, not when i'll actually get it right?

Also Holmgren Subaru in North Franklin Ct is having 3 Sedans delivered around the same time...I'm not sure if they are fullfilled orders but if not scoop one up!!!

Well made back from Evanston Subaru, 3hr trip in the rain, Mike and Evan were great. Everything went smooth and quick. Home in the driveway, already dirty.

It sounds like Subaru needs to ramp up production of these cars by at least 25%. I can understand why they don't want dealers to devalue the car, but they are the ones shooting themselves in the foot. If any dealers around me had any WRX's in stock (currently nothing within a 200 mile radius at least…) I would be inclined to spend more money to get it ASAP. However, Subaru has forced me and most other smart shoppers, to go out for bid on these cars being that we would have to wait 8+ weeks regardless where we ordered it. Now Subaru is limiting how many WRX's it sends to a high volume dealer/region?! Ridiculous…

You will get your car. They are putting "HOLD" status' on a large number of cars to wait for reports back from Japan on production levels and to purify regions that have a huge number of orders in.

You don't need to call anyone, just try your best to be patient.

It has been known to SoA for almost a year now that there is no way to meet these lofty sales goals each year without more production support. They need another plant and they know it. Sadly, there is a LOT of politics and communication issues standing in the way.

They will have a solution but it will take some serious effort and time.

Someone's STi was at Evanston when I was there, dgm base sedan I think. Looked pretty nice and it held redline like a pro when I did donuts in the parking lot with it.

I'll be there tomorrow since I didn't have time last week to get my "intro" to the car. Who needs instructions when you've got this thread and read anything related to Subaru on your sleepless night-waiting for your car?
