So we ordered our limited WRX 5d and STI 5d (no navs) last Saturday (Oct 20th), no word from the dealer yet. We ordered it from Mastero in Tampa. The local Sarasota (Sunset) dealer JUST called. They have TWO WRXs 5d that just arrived, but not limited. So there are some out there. They also have a silver STI 4d. Sarasota doesn't see too many WRX/STI, mostly the older folks buy the Forester and Outbacks, so these usually sit on the lot. Unfortunately neither is exactly what we are looking for.

Anyone looking for a Silver STI (4d) or WRX 5d (silver) - they have two on the lot at Sunset (in Sarasota, FL). They just got them yesterday.

I am just wondering, for those that ordered, how long did it take before you got your VON? I would at least like to track it.

The dealer receives the VON immediately when placing the order. However, most salespeople won't give it to you unless you ask for it. And "tracking" the VON will mainly just consist of getting in touch with your dealer for updates. Really all the VON gives you is piece of mind that things are moving forward.

Seems like most people got there VON either day or order or soon after. I called SOA since I didnt get mine at all and its been 2 weeks. They told me Van Bortel does things differently and doesnt get use a VON just a control number.

I'm in Jersey, ordered Oct 2nd and got the typical 6 - 8 week estimate. If that holds true I will get the car in November. The dealer was pretty confident that it will come on time.

Thats somewhat comforting, I mean my salesman was pretty confident too and said that all the orders hes done have been 6-8 weeks. I ordered from one of (if not largest) dealers in the nation so hopefully that helps.

Just an FYI, I ordered 10/5 in Georgia, right here in Metro atlanta and was quoted 1/5/13 (exactly 12wks) which I believe is a generic ETA.

For those looking to see their cars in november, that ordered around this date,....

Give up now.

Your dealer is SDC. You first get the control number. Then eventually a VON through SoA. Getting an eta is difficult as well because they need to contact SDC distribution. You won't get a VIN until your vehicle is at port or about to be transported to the dealer.

From what I gathered in this thread though, is the north east works a bit differently and they don't get a VON....the whole SOA vs that other Subaru group for those east people...or what ever.

This likely goes back to the tsunami as they are still probably affected by part and material sourcing and it has put them behind right in the beginning. 6-8 weeks is a normal wait time for an order, and if you notice on this thread there are very few people who are actually getting their cars in that time frame. It also greatly depends on what you order as the production runs from the subaru plant are likely done in bunches. It seems like in my area, base wrx sedans were the first to arrive back in August / September, with premium wrx sendans following. WRX Hatches are just starting to trickle in, and I haven't even seen an STI show up yet.

For those who just recently placed orders, I wouldn't count on 6-8 weeks, it's more likely that you are going to see 10-12 weeks at least. There will be those who are lucky and get matched up with cars that are already built or in the build queue.

My original order for a 2012 was placed in April, then converted in August to a 2013. I still don't have my car yet, but it's in transit to the dealer and should be here this week.

Patience young grasshoppers... patience...

Yeah, I'm under SoNE. I called SOA at one point and was told there is no VON. The carts are doled out by the district manager and he matches incoming cars from the plant to dealerships.

What's strange is the very small local dealer (which I didn't order from), is getting his allotments of WRXs and STIs. He has two on the lot right now. Unfortunately, they are not the color or version that I want. Of course he usually sells to the older crowd here in South Florida, so he doesn't move many WRX/STIs, but he does get them.

I am starting to wonder if there is an allotment priority. If that is the case, maybe the small local dealer would have an edge on the big dealer that has already exceeded their allotment. Just wondering and thinking...the local guy managed to get two in and on the lot. He said he hasn't ordered any for a customer in a while.

Would be nice to at least get SOME type of confirmation that it was ordered. He said it was and would send me an update when he gets it. So far nothing....

Yep from Clayton on club wrx. ISM 5 Door base with extended armrest. He knows what he's doing so I'm not gonna bug him, for now .

If I don't hear anything after 6 week mark I'll give him a call. Right now I'm driving around my dads car because I can't fit a car seat in my pickup.

Really? Gonna change $20K cars(that you'll keep for years) just like that over a couple weeks?

Anyway I decided to stop in because I ordered a week ago and didn't receive any VON yet. He said the order went through Tuesday(10/16) morning (I ordered Monday night right before closing time) and the VON could take 6-8 business days to come back. If so I should have it some point this week. He said he will also forward a website to track it (i guess SoA set up a site too now? i knew of the number to call)

I am curious about this site also. I might have missed it trying to read everything. Have you posted this yet?

Dealers don't order the cars from Japan. FHI builds what they deem they need. SOA just distributes them as they come in.

Hot ship for SOA just means they do their best to move the "hot shipped" car with more priority through the whole system. Works pretty good most of the time.
