How do some people in SoA know what boat the car is on, and others do not? I asked the person at SoA if they knew the name of the boat my car was on, and they said that they have no idea. I have an ETA of 12/31 so I'm hoping I'm on the Meridian Ace, but no one has told me anything to really confirm that.

If the tune was "that bad" then don't you think subaru will want to change it? I don't think they want one of their flagship selling car to have a bad name. Just drive with common sense you should be fine. And your car is under warranty anyway.

Isn't the tune on the 2013 a lot better than the 2008-?

It's a total different car..
And people will always find something "bad" about anything stock. If they wanted a better quality car they should of bought a Porsche. (better factory suspension, bushings etc etc etc) |

Of course it is tuned to meet USA emission. However if there is really a problem with tuning like that don't you think subaru will have to figure something else out? Aftermarket tune might make the car a much different beast but I'm sure the factory tune isn't "bad" as people claim. It just isn't what people expect from a performance car.

Okay boys and girls, Its a new work week! So, for those of us behind a computer its necessary that this thread get updated as often as possible. We, errr "I"...will surley loose my mind if this thread didn't exist.
So on that note...I'd like to make a very contradicting post. *I swear If I read one more word about "Break In Proceedure" or "The Factory Tune"....I'm going to quit my job, buy a boat, and sail out to the next incomming Cargo ship (with your car on it) an sink it! ![]() In all honesty, there are 3-trillion & 1 other threads discussing the break in and a factory tune. I understand we run off topic a bit here and there, and thats not a big deal, even when its about the tune, or break in...but once it becomes page after page of "tune this" and "break in that" this thread becomes quite annoying to those of us who are comming here primarily for an update on delivery info, and to talk about things directly related to the order and delivery process.* I guess just try and keep that in mind before you post. Thats all, or you could all just tell me to stuff it and stop whining. ![]() Maybe we need a sister thread. We can Call it "The 2013 WRX/STi New Owner Thread" where you can all talk about how you plan on treating your car after your order is complete then argue with other members when they tell you how their going to treat their car different. Then all the newbs and gurus can drop in once in a while and troll freely while the order thread is left un-molested by the ignorent "uninformed" newbies and the overly cocky "know it all" nasioc post counters. ![]() ![]() |

awaiting the phone call for either tomorrow or Wednesday to go pick up
Ordered: 10/15 ETA: 6-8 Weeks Port Released: 11/26 Dealer Check-in: 11/30 Pickup: 12/4-12/5 I slightly ehh after reading the thread about port installed options, and the dealership telling me the exhaust was NOT installed which is why I needed to wait a few extra days (was supposed to pick up Saturday). The wait doesn't bother me, but the fact that I ordered the car with the exhaust and it wasn't installed at the port has me questioning why? I just hope the dealer is "qualified" to install it, and I say it that way because I work for a body shop and have seen some dealer installed options over the years that just make me ![]() any who, will post pics when I do in fact pick up |

in regards to dealer installing accessories, that is kinda weird, dealer either put in the accessory request late or not at all and are covering their asses. Don't let them charge you for the install since its their screw up I know some dealerships, cough feders, do this so they can overcharge you while the sales ppl bitch like they are starving or like it cost money to have the accessories installed at port.

I emailed them about it, because it was definitely requested when I was there ordering the car. They must have just not put it through. But I can also somewhat remember them telling me while i was ordering the car that they install the options there at the dealer. waiting to see what they say. |

@dothatshht I think what might have happened is they have an extra allocation for you and a car incoming that was very close to what you ordered so they just pipeline the car for you and install the few options that isn't on the car yet for you at the dealer. You shouldn't have to pay extra for the installation of the spt exhaust. And it's pretty hard to mess up the installation of the SPT exhaust as it's literally just bolt on. If they can't even bolt 3 parts together right then I think they fail big time as a dealership tech. |

The Morning Cara is in line for the panama canal. Same shipping line as Leo Leader and Meridian Ace.
Unsure of the contents of the ship or the ports of destination. |

We also have the PRominent Ace down off florida, sais it's destination is Veracruz which is about 1000nm south of it's position, so I highly doubt that is true considering it's headed north along the ICW @ 18knots.
Also we have the perseus leader just off newport news shipyard headed either to norfolk (unkonwn why) or north to baltimore. Both whips contents are unknown, but the ship type of RoRo, and port history match with meridian ace and leo leader. Not sure of the shipping company. |

^ Sure, look at it later today or tomorrow and se what the next destination is
![]() I just checked my dealer's site and my car shows in transit with my name assigned to it. At least it's SOME progress. This is driving me nuts! 10 weeks+ for a WRX Limited with no adders |

Perseus Leader destination is Baltimore.
Prominent Ace destination is no longer listed as Veracruz, doesn't show a port. Quote:

Yes folks if you could please keep us informed the minute you get a dealer update that your car is "at port" OR that your dealers website shows your car as "in transit" that would be helpful.
I personally would like to know which dealers are leaving sold orders visible to customers to generate calls on a sold car versus which ones don't behave this way. I am also interested in how long it takes from the time a ship ties up and unloads, till the time subarunet updates, dealers get VIN's and status change. This will help me identify their main bottleneck, which all along I have believed to be in humans with clipboards. |
