$0. I asked the dealer if he wanted some sort of deposit and he turned it down. He said that if I wrote him a check, he would just hold on to it until the car came, and then give it back.

He cut me a good deal on the car, so I told him I'd give him my business. He didn't feel the need to pigeon hole me into buying the car from him.

200 would be nice though, since im waiting for a settlement since my last car was totaled
The price down doesn't make a difference. Like others said it comes off what your paying. The only thing it really does is secure that the car is YOURS and YOURS only and that no one can snatch it up while in transit.

If the deposit is only $200 and then you find a better deal elsewhere or someone else gets the car you want in then it's pretty easy to just walk away from the deal. $1000? Not so much.

FWIW my deposit was $100.
Refundable deposit...

I put 1000 down... Goes towards my final purchase... And the price I got... Nobody was even wanting to touch, so i don't have to worry about finding a better deal.

Ugh I can't wait until I'm at week 8. It's been 5 days and I've already had a lot of trouble sleeping and trying not to buy new parts.

LOL don't tell anyone that outside of this board or they'll think you are crazy, but we all understand. I'm picking mine up tomorrow and I'm so giddy I had to take NyQuil to fall asleep last night.

Yeah no kidding. I think its already been the longest 5 days of my life!!!

It's going to be worth it though. I've wanted a WRX for 2 years now so I guess another 3-4 months isn't a big deal, I just gotta try to stay focused on other things....like new parts.

Man, 2 years... I never even looked twice at them until I drove my first Subaru last spring. Have been obsessed ever since, and started seriously thinking about buying an STi in August. So this whole process from falling in love to taking delivery is only 5 months, and it feels like forever. I am not a patient man.

Yep...it's been a long 2 years. I made some dumb decisions when I was younger and royally ****ed my credit up so I have been working hard to fix it. Also my last job was hit and miss for paychecks (commission sucks!) and now that I finally have my credit in order and a steady, nice paycheck I can depend on weekly I am finally able to get my WRX.

I originally wanted an 06-07 STi but honestly I would just like to have a brand new car for once in my life and have since fallen in love with the GR's.

Volans Leader is off the outer banks, NC right now, should be in the Chesepeake bay by afternoon @ 18kts.
Weather system caused them to go a bit more east then they would have liked adding a little time.
