Yea, let me know I am just curious. I know the Nav unit was upgraded in 2012 so i assumed that might have something to do with it. The customizable EQ is pretty badass too, love it.

only time I felt the stock shifter was in my test drive one, forgot what it felt like.

I have the SPT short throw with SPT bushings all the way around, including SPT LH & RH motor mounts and tranny mount.
Stiffened it RIGHT up.
Makes city driving kinda a pain in anything but I mode though because it's so jerky

There's no way to do it all at once. You gotta just go to Subaru.com and look for dealers and check inventory.

I'd check Heuberger motors in Colorado. They have definitely said they will ship anywhere.

The big ones in California are in Lake Forest, City of Industry, Santa Monica, Colma, and Redwood City.

2. Shifter- Stock shifter sucks, throws are to long. Easy fix with a STS, but now I know why everyone always complained about it.
This is why I got the STS ordered with the car. Didn't like the long throw in the 2011 WRX I test drove.

Man I should really leave this thread but it's too much fun.
1. Yep, I'm coming from an Outback Sport, which has the same head unit as the stock wrx/sti and the Nav sounds a million times better. The standard HU sounds about as good as the speaker on my iphone.

2. Yeah, the stock shifter on the WRX kinda sucks. I test drove one and the shifter didn't feel sporty at all, like it was the same as my OBS. The stock STi is apparently much better, although I got the STS package on mine so I'm not sure what stock feels like.

Heuberger has the Trim, Color, and sedan I want, just way more options. I wonder if I can get my dealer to just throw those in.

Hmm I was considering upgrading all the mounts to SPT stuff but I don't know if I want to now lol. I'm a noob at manual so having it too jerky isn't going to help me. Though I will get the engine mount eventually.

Hey guys need one last piece of advice. I got an order quote for an sti sedan swp with nav and kicker sub for 37,695 before tax. Should I hop on this? This is supposed to be with the Costco car program pricing. Is there a way I can lock them into this pricing? I've heard stories where dealers change the pricing last minute. I don't wanna lose out on my deposit. Thanks everyone

They can't really change pricing last minute if they want to make the sale. Ask them to print out an agreement sheet for you and have the sale mananger sign it. That's what I did. I asked my salesman to print out the Order invoice and have his sale mananger wrote down "Agreed to sell at XXX price" and signed/date it. Though most people doesn't seem to have problem with dealer changing price last minute. Subaru is a lot stricter now with cars on order. They want the car to be sold/registered to the name of the person that made the order. I don't know how good that deal is for you but if you think it's a good deal and want a piece of mind then do what I did.

Have a signed purchase order (no verbal, or even e-mail, agreements). Have you and them sign that dotted line and they'll have to deliver at said price.

I'm assuming that is a Limited, right? If so, that's $300 over invoice so yeah that's in the right ballpark.

As far as the law is concerned email is just as good as a signature these days, if not better. If they are going to dick you around they are going to do it regardless if it's their signature or their email.

No. Invoice on a base sedan is $33,250 . With nav and the sub ($1500~) that puts it around $34,750 + $250 dealer handling (this varies, some will charge more/less), that puts it around $35,000 for the car.

If you're talking OTD pricing, then it will be around $38k.

I called SOA last night btw.

Ordered: 1/7
VON: 1/7
ETA: Apr-May

I asked him if they had a VIN yet, and he said no.
I said: "I will probably get that when it leaves the factory, right?"
He said: "You won't get the VIN until it hits the US"

So my question is: How do some of you know what ship your vehicle is on when you track it?

Nobody knows what ship their vehicle is on. But ships come over this way about once a month, they're usually a ro-ro ship run by NYK Shipping Lines. So people just track any ships that meet the criteria and are stopping at all the right ports and guess.

It's maddening. Don't do it. Trust me.

Just talked to SOA, told me that an order placed on 1/19 should take 8-16 weeks. So why am I being told June by dealer?

So they can mule your car as a test drive vehicle for a month

In all honesty, they are probably playing it safe so you aren't calling every day from week 8 to week 16.

Haha... I only work three days a week myself. They are 13-14 hours a day, but I have plenty of time to do other things.

A few years ago I had my driveway paved. The guy screwed up and was dodging my calls.

One of my "Off days," I called him and said on his voicemail "Please call me back, I have all day"

He didn't call back

The next day, I bowel movement you not, I counted that I called him 382 times within the course of 7 hours. The following day, I called him 202 times within 5 hours.
The following day, a couple of his crew workers showed up to fix the damage... still looked like ass, but I got my point across

I also neglected to mention when I talked to the Subaru Rep last night at SOA... He stated that they have bumped up production d/t the volume expectancy. He said although my ETA was April, he has seen a plethora of cars coming in a lot sooner.

Just trying to deliver some good news in this depressing thread

Congrats to all of you getting your cars earlier than expected. I'm happy for you/mad at you/jealous of you/excited for you :P
