I guess a deposit that will be put toward the purchase price of the car. I figured that its probably because I'm young (26) and avoid credit like the plague. So yeah, I'll be just paying it off fully when it comes in.

IMO, 10% for a deposit is crazy. May not be too much of a risk for you, but still ties up some cash. Also, if it's a solid dealership, age shouldn't matter. I'm 24 and they only required the standard 500 deposit to put the order in. It's not even a high volume dealer, they've had 3 WRXs on the lot for almost 2 months now.

Yeah I'm 23, but have been building credit for 5-6 years. Dealer didn't even ask me about age and stuff.

22 here, but not much longer til 23. And with the credit I've established for myself already, the dealer offered me a much better interest rate (lower obviously) than the credit union through my work. So I'm stoked about that.

Yeah im 26 and my dealer couldn't give a **** less how old I am. I've been working on improving my credit for the last 2 years in order to buy this car.

I fully boosted last night in 2nd gear and all I got to say is... Oh... My... God.... Totally worth the 11 week wait. I really hope your cars come in soon so you can do the same.

haha thanks and yeah, I put 40 on it yesterday and now i've only got 840 left as of right now. they did an ole swappy-do with a dealership about 113 miles away and only had 120 miles on it when it showed up to the dealership here, so I don't think it got any test drives

I tried them and concordville. Talked to each of them through email but they took forever. So I went to Roberts and found a salesman that seemed pretty cool and I'm dealing with them. Though, we do have our forrester through them. So that may have played a factor into it too that I just didn't realize.

I'm not that much older than you (32) and my dealer didn't even run a credit check. My $500 deposit just had to cover the accessories I ordered. I'm curious why you avoid credit like the plague? It sucks to pay interest on something if you don't need to, but you need to build up your credit history in order to get lower interest loans for a home or cars that you don't have cash for.

Honestly I've just never needed it. I've always had cash for everything. Which I guess, I'm more fortunate then most but yeah, I digress. I probably should build credit.
