If the installer is good, he should prep the car beforehand. Which would included making the paint perfect before applying the clear bra. I will be having this done right when mine comes in as well. I would check with your installer to be sure. Everyone could be different.

Thank you guys for all the concern!

As Guy Hollywood said I am the Sales Manager. I actually do not get credit as the "salesman" for any of the sales that are generated through this site.

As the manager I get paid on every single car that gets sold here, so they wouldn't pay me double on the deals I generate here. I give all the "bones" to the owner's son Evan. He works very hard in my internet department, and deserves them. He is the one who makes sure paperwork is in order, and then shows the client how their new vehicle works (if they want him to).

This site generates a very small amount of profit for us, and requires a very large amount of my time. That said it is what makes me feel good, and that is why I do it. Giving back to the fellow Subaru nerds that love these cars as much as I do is more important than the couple hundred bucks extra the sales here net me. You guys all kick ass, and I am just a fellow gear head who wants to help out.

Bryan I wish I could have been here for delivery time. I hope Evan did a decent job. I know he is not the gear head type, and can be a little jumpy, but he is a great guy. If you need anything moving forward don't hesitate to ask me!

Cheers nasiocers!

Mike

I'm with you there. I really like the limited's wheels but I didn't wanna pay the extra $ for leather seats and moonroof.

I gotta say the base wheels are starting to grow on me though.

I placed an order for my 2013 WRX base 5-door in DGM. Now the wait begins!

I was hoping my dealer could find a similarly optioned 2012 somewhere in the Midwest and do a dealer trade but given my requested options, I'm not getting my hopes up.

I just found out mine was delivered a few hours ago. Already been to see it, and drove it around the parking lot. Now I just have to wait till Monday for my trade in to get here. And took off of work Mon-Fri next week to enjoy my car!

They are detailing it as I type, and it will be put in the showroom over the weekend to keep it away from the elements.

It WAS the 19th. I would think yours will be there very soon, if it isn't already.

They still have to install the roof racks, and STP exhaust. Hopefully those will be on by tomorrow so I can get some better pictures than what my "no contract phone" can get.

Also what is with this plastic dip trend? I have seen a couple people say they are going to dip their winter wheels. Is it just for looks or does it actually add some kind of functional protection? I was just going to pick up a new set of steelies for $200ish and call it a day. I feel like the plastic dip would just get chipped off after a winter and would have to be redone.
How much weight does it add? Soo many people talking about these cars being too heavy.....

Not true. Probably told you that so you won't be calling every other day. And, since you are in Colorado Springs, I assume you are talking about Heuberger. I'd place money on the fact they are updated more than any other dealer in the country.

Um are you serious?

From what I figure, once it is "released", it becomes a logistics thing with the trucking company. They have to have enough cars to fill a truck that is headed your way. It will sit there until a truck can be loaded up. Very frustrating. Especially when we have a sold order that that happens to.

On a kinda funny side note, we had a 2011 Forester fall through the cracks once though. It was "released" for 3 months before we finally noticed and checked on it. No explanation, but when it showed up, it was on the same truck with six 2012 Foresters....

No, sense it wasn't an "ordered car", rather it was an allocated car that just happened to be what I was going to order. The only options pre installed were the fog lights, and the short throw shifter.

I read on the sheet that the port is in Baltimore, I have no idea why you didn't get yours first.

Have you given the dealer a quick ring?

Mine didn't call me, I just happened to check the inventory and the other WRX they were getting showed it had arrived, so figuring my was probably on the same truck, I stopped by to investigate. They were like "yeah it just got here, its out back, here's the keys, go nuts!"

Emailed my dealer yesterday. No new info other than "Month of Nov." still. Real bummer that other people ordering the same week as I did hearing that theirs are at least in production

Ordered a base 2013 WRX DGM hatch on 9/6. It will be my first Subaru, and my first new car.

I see many people here mention they received a "VON". Is this a vehicle order number? How did you all get this VON?

I asked my dealer if I would get some type of an order number and they told me no. They also said they have no way of tracking the car and they wont know anything about it other then it will come in about 8 weeks, possibly more, possibly less.

I had a chat with my sales rep today. No pertinent info on my car except month of October. No VIN even. As you all get your cars I regret the extra options I chose... I should have done all upgrades myself...

Looks like I will need a ride to Subiefest. I got cash for gas if someone here wants to hook me up.

Why not?! If you didn't put money down, go somewhere else. Your wait will start over but these guys sound like jerk bags. If you DID put money down, it is not out of line to request some proof it was ordered. There should be no reason for them to be withholding (hiding) your VON from you. WTH.

The way my deal went down was I met with my saleman in advance and we discussed my desired specs, and we came to an agreed price. When ordering opened on 8/15 he called me and asked for the green light to enter the order, which I obviously gave him. I requested a receipt for my $500 phoned-in credit card down payment, along with a VON or some form of confirmation of the order... I want something to back up my $500. He gladly left an envelope at the cashier desk for me to pick up that evening containing the CC receipt and order confirmation printout from SubaruNET. Surely other dealers will operate in their own way, but I got zero fuss or pushback of this request.

Pretty sure that's a flat out lie. There's no way YOU or I as a buyer can track it, other than contacting them or SoA directly.

Sorry for the windbag reply. Your car order is probably just peachy and in queue. If I'm grossly mistaken or out of line, would a dealer rep in this thread please correct me?

You would not believe the horrible experiences I have had at 3 Subaru dealers trying to order a 2013 WRX. The first dealer I went to I asked to get a quote on a 2013 WRX and told them I wanted to order one. The lady told me she could give me the MSRP and to come back when I was serious. The next dealer, 45 minutes away lied to me about having a car in stock, made me drive all the way out there only to find out it was sold 3 hours ago even though the sales manager told me 45 minutes prior on the phone that he still had the car on the lot. Then he tried to sell me a different car after lying to me. And finally I at the third dealer I ordered the car and yes I put down a deposit, and now it sounds like I was lied to again. I'm sure having a great experience with these Subaru dealers.

EDIT: I just checked my dealer's website and there seems to be a 2013 WRX "in-transit" with the exact same options as mine. I will call tomorrow and find out for sure. The VIN# is listed too, but I was told they would call me as soon as they knew. So I will find out tomorrow. I'm wondering if they did not order it and its just one that happens to be exactly how I wanted it.
