I have a tint appointment for Saturday, I hope lol. I'm gonna get the tail lights done as well. I can't decide between leave the turn signal and reverse lights clear..

Or all tinted

What do you guys think?

Idk I've been kinda leaning towards all tinted. As long as its done clean and not faded like some. Plus those two in the pic were completely debadged and I think that even the small red sti emblem would make it look more subtle and less contrasted on the all white.

Edit: still open for opinions tho, I like the feedback from you guys.

Lots of people on these boards are against tinting the whole lights because it reduces visibility and by extension safety of others.

I don't think it looks bad, but don't think there's enough gain to potentially justify a ticket and a safety issue.

I think the tinted overlays or whatever they're called are good compromise and unique

Personally, on the SWPs, I like the red w/clear reverse lights. Either way, some kind of overlay is the way to go. That's the only thing I don't like about the look of the 5-doors.

I think I'm doing 30% tint all around and full clear bra as soon as mine shows up. Then I'll think about the tails.

What do you guys think about the DGMs for tail light overlays? Been trying to decide between red and a smoke, both with clear reverse.

Tail light tint is legal here with visibility up to 500 feet away. I think I might go all black

Well if that's the case, do like turbo said and pick the one you like better.

So I went ahead and ordered the other day, an LED light bulbs for the from turn signals to eliminate the orange fluorescent, and replace it with a clear "look-a-like" fluorescent which has the same appearance as a normal bulb, however has an amber LED inside. So it gives the appearance of a clean clear housing, yet still flashes amber. Then I totally forgot there was also an orange reflector in the housing as well. Oh well.

Link to said bulb for those interested as well.

Side note; they have lots of good replacements, for LED reverse bulbs if you do tint your tail lights, or to replace those dim license plate bulb. I also bought those as well.

You can always bake open your headlights, remove the reflector and black out the housings.

Some guy on here with a username of like dirty pig or ugly pig I don't remember, does them for people professionally. Send him the lights and he can customize them for I think 50 or so. I might in the future go all black housing, yellow painted high beam bowls w/ yellow Nokya, then have a yellow angel eye around the projector.

Like this, except paint the high beam bowls yellow. I think it would look pretty mean.

That's exatcly what I was planning, although I haven't made up my mind on the halos. I work for BMW and I don't know if I want to deal with the daily verbal abuse I would prob get from my coworkers about being a "poser". On the other hand I might take my own advice and say **** it and just do it anyways. Lol

If any of us get these done, I wouldn't be able to drive my car for however long it would take him to get my head lights and do all the work and ship them back. Plus there has to be issues later on with fogging or moisture on the inside of the head lights once you open them. But who knows

Do it yourself. I have done this a couple of times in the past. Never had an issue with moisture. Set your oven to the lowest setting, bake headlight for about 10 min. Pull apart, do what you need to do on the inside. Put headlight halves back in oven for 5-10 min to get sealant soft again, put back together.

Personally, too wide for my taste. I like minimalistic.
