Congrats! Lucky you're thrown into the 10/15 batch with a later 8/23 order date! Though it took me a few seconds to figure out what you meant by a "13 foot" WRX

Im in the Cleveland , OHIO area and picked up my 2013 WRX last week(9-14) It was due 9-19 initially. I've been waiting about 2 months. The car had already been allocated to my dealership they way I wanted it, 5 door WR blue premium. I was able to change the port options and got exactly what I wanted.

Yeah man! It's the slightly short wheelbase version. Im surprised they're filling such a special order so fast!

Just got word that the WRX (that was already in transit) I had put a deposit down for has an ETA of 10/11. The salesman said it might arrive earlier as another WRX in the same batch got an updated ETA for 10/8. Hope I can get it earlier as I'm currently w/o a car and have been for about a month!

I just emailed my salesman and asked if there was any word or update from Subaru. I was told, "Being this far out before the scheduled delivery date Subaru does not track the production yet. I will keep in touch and call or email you as soon as we receive the "week of date" which means 7 days prior or 7 days after the date. Hope this helps and I will keep you posted."

FWIW, I ordered August 30th. I was told by SoA a week ago that it was "month of December" because the car I ordered was originally allotted for the west cost. I have been nervous about that because I have to sell my vehicle and I was afraid that I would sell it and be without a car for months and months.

Well, after the kind of smug response I got from the salesman, I called SoA. They told me they had a vin (and gave it to me) and told me October 15.

That seems about on schedule for the rest of us who ordered late August.

Glad SoA was there to back you up. I cant imagine why your dealer would say that to you. Came off smug to me as well...

Exactly what my dealer said. December. But ordered Sept 7 and they said "6-8 weeks." Well, December is much longer than 6-8 weeks....

I tried searching around but didn't find anything, but is there a guide/FAQ to ordering a WRX/STi?

I'm planning on ordering a 2013 STi in January (doubtful my location will have anything on the lot, ever :P) and have some questions about the process.

From what I've gleaned, is it:

1) Go to dealership, place order and drop $500 for deposit.
2) Wait a couple months.
3) Car comes, you pay exactly the price of it on the website? Ideally have a loan ready already from your bank/credit union. Haggle on trade in. Etc.

Step 3 is where I am worried the most. I keep occasionally reading about how the dealer will get the car and then proceed to jack the price up for no good reason. Read about that happening with the BRZ. If that's the case, I would be furious that they are with holding "my" car that I ordered and waited for.

Anyways, can't wait to start the process. I have some negative equity still on my '03 WRX I just got in February, but I am planning on paying off the loan completely in January. I've been considering all kinds of scenarios here; ordering in late November so I can pay off my current loan in time and not have to wait, or just waiting till end of January to order, or even attempting to just order it now and see if they will give me a 35k loan with some extra from my current car loan on top with little to no money down (doubtful there, but I have a high credit score and am a Software Engineer $$$).

Sorry for that, I'm being patient with the whole process because I spur-of-the-momented on my current WRX and have regretted the decision. Still, if I could start the process sooner...

I just had the funniest thing happen on the way home. I was traveling on 88 east near 355 in Illinois when I saw a clean new black WRX hatch with Evanston plate frames. I had to catch up to the guy and give him a thumbs up and a smile. He caught back up to me about 5 minutes later and this is the conversation we had with our windows down doing 80 on the highway.

Him: "You should get one!"
Me: (in my girlfriend's 08 sonata

) "I ordered one from Mike!"
Him: BRRRRRRRRRRR and a head nod as he pulls away.

You guys need to stay away from me so this wait isn't so terrible!

What I did:

Sent generic email to EVERY dealer in a 200mi radius saying:

"Hello,

I am looking to order/purchase a 2013 Subaru WRX,

I am looking for the following options:

*options*
*options*
*options*
*options*

I am not only looking for the best in price but also service, quality, and care.

Thank you and have a nice day!

*please direct all communications via email*"

About 6 dealers sent back competitive offers. One was WAY better than the others, he was on the outer edge of that radius, so i sent his offer verbatim to a closer/preferred dealer asking if they could match, they did. Once it gets here I'll have them run my Fiancee's stellar credit and see if any of their offers beat my local credit union's and go w/ the best.

Now, assuming this all goes to plan, they wont try and dick me when it arrives and everything'll be hunkey-dorey...

I've been with the car for all of 2 hours now, and it was worth the months of waiting. I'm so incredibly pleased and impressed with the car. I'm waiting for the break in period, but I might have tapped it once....4k RPM feels like a roller coaster

Trust me I would get it tonight but I have school tomorrow and I wouldn't be able to meet my Dad there who wants to be there when I get the car but man I am so excited i've been waiting for almost 8 months total including trying to order a 2012 and getting rejected

I contacted my dealer and told them not to apply the dressing for the tires and they already were aware. Apparently this is becoming a more serious issue because they said that they do not apply dressing onto light color cars such as SWP or ISM. Tomorrow's going to be amazing

I'm not too happy, my SWP got the dressing..but I'm going back tomorrow to get it fixed and quickly. I'm not happy.

Make sure they don't put the tire dressing on it. I can already tell mine is getting splatter.

That's exactly what it is. I picked it up today, so hopefully it'll come right out tomorrow. My problem is, I wiped off the grime I could see at the dealer (and still saw the spots) and there was more grime and the same spots when I got home and wiped it off again.

It's too dark to get pictures of it right now..I'll have to do it tomorrow. It's a pain, but it should be an easy fix.
