I hope my car arrives before I have to move for a job. The chances of me moving are getting close to have to.

What'll happen is I'll move then bam it'll show up and I'll have to take off work to come back and get it. Doesn't look good for a new hire taking off soon after being brought aboard.

I just ordered my '13 STI. It is my very first Subaru and I am really excited. Too bad I have to wait until December to get it! I guess good things come to those who wait!

I wonder why there is such a long wait to get these things. I understand that Subaru is a smaller car maker, but it seems like they're missing out on a lot of volume by having 3-4 month delay on a car that's been in production for a couple of years.

There was this thing that happened about a year and a half ago that caused a major log jam for the cars that they build in Japan. Subaru is still trying to recover production wise, while still launching a new body Impreza, the new XV Crosstek, and redesigning the Forester all out of that plant.

They know they have an issue, and are trying to fix it.

Released from the Port to the shipping carrier service (usually a freight train first, then a yard, then a truck).

Just breath it can be "released" status for over a week sometime longer depending on where you are and what info the carrier transmits back.

Lmao I think I need one too! I was looking through my new Motortrend magazine and low and behold an ad for a 2013 DGM STi sedan.

This wait is killing me lol

Well...my STI is supposed to be here next Friday. Unfortunately, I may just have to cancel and place another order elsewhere. I'll give you a brief break down of the events in which have resulted from an email sent to me from the dealership this morning.

Firstly, I am now being offered a different trade value than what was to be considered "guaranteed" when I placed my order and gave them my refundable deposit on 8/6. He even wrote this price on a piece of paper that I neglected to get a copy of. Now he claims that he is "unable to find it". 2008 WRX Premium Sedan. 53,000 miles. Good Condition. The price was $16,500, now $15,800...despite the fact that KBB and NADA are $150 more than several weeks ago (accounting for an additional 1,500 miles) and it now has newly resurfaced rotors and pads.

Also, at the initial ordering phase, I was quoted for my STi (Base Hatch, SWP, Popular Package 1, Sport Performance 1B, Boost Gauge, Shock Sensor) directly at invoice. They told me "that won't be an issue at all". However, I was apprehensive at the time as I had not seen a single figure for this price. Nonetheless I should've at least got the statement in writing.

They just sent me the MSRP price without tax, title and licensing = $39,262?! Are you kidding me? To top that off they have no recollection of ever stating they could do invoice and are saying they can't budge from the MSRP. Though, their MSRP price is still $600 more than the MSRP I came up with on CarsDirect.com. Regardless...this is still $2500 more than invoice.

All said and done (not including tax, title and licensing)...approximately $3800 more than what I was initially told would be coming out of my pocket. An extra $50+/month for six years??? I think I'd rather pay this as additional principal.

I'm super bummed. Who knows...considering my acquisition of electronic responses from 5 different dealers in WA (all of which quoted me at invoice with a confirmed value), I may be able to haggle them back down. Though, my hopes aren't exactly too high and am now expecting to be getting one in December through a more reputable dealership. But I will still be making an attempt and at the very least will get a free test drive! Perhaps I should mob around at 6k RPM boosting everywhere?

Anybody else have any issues similar to mine a couple days away or even the day of pickup? Or am I the only dumbass that let his guard down in good faith and in return gets it in the proverbial "ass" without the decency to at least apply lubrication?

Have an interview for a job 1600miles away...I feel pretty confident about it though.

Whenever it arrives, tint and bra are going on day two. So I need a few days to get everything installed.

Just got the Call today, me and the wife pick up our 2013 SWP WRX Limited on Saturday!

Car was ordered 2 weeks ago, they found one in Canada and took on dealer trade.

Couldnt be happier with how quick this went down.

Thumbs up

Yes! I placed my order for the 5-door grey metallic silver wrx 2013. They said it will be on the boat from Japan for two weeks alone then to Indiana then to the dealer. Its going to be a long wait considering I already have offers for my 02 mustang.

They threw in the short throw shifter turbo boost gauge and fog light kit for free with free installation.

I never bought a car before and still in college... should be a good time!
