So I have been waiting 7weeks 5days talked to my dealer today and still no VIN. At least my order is still "month of Nov" and not a "hold" status. My dealer thinks b/c I am waiting on a hatch is why my production is slower than other orders in Aug.

I need this car before the snow starts falling, I have trips planned.

That being into the 40's is unreasonable? I have nearly everything you can get on the car and I realize that, but seeing all these prices I feel like i'm getting rheemed....

Subaru Of Gwinnett...
Holy shnikies that's a lot of stuff. It is hard to tell what a good price would be as a lot of those options don't come port installed and the dealer has to do work. Bushings and mounts etc. Also the tint and clearness stuff is after market.

Wish I could answer properly but there is just too many subjective items on that list.

I completely understand, thank you sir.

The tint he priced @ 299.... aluminum UV protect tint darkest legal in georgia all around.

I can give you the pricing on all the rest too if you want, it's all higher then subarupartsmall.com i've noticed....

I just bought a 2013 impreza 5 door from them for my wife (same salesman) like 1 month ago, I got dealer cost on it just because i'm a corporate VIP from working at Black Book, but I kinda feel like i'm getting screwed on this one

Also he said the port is only going to install like the sub, the exhaust, and 1 or 2 other things. THEY have to install EVERYTHING else including the motor mounts and the shifter bushing. The port WILL install the shifter though.

Dumb...

Why install the shifter but not the bushing.........

That means they have to undo, half the work the port did. That just doesn't make much sense to any reasonably informed individual.

This whole ordering a car and waiting thing is brand new to me, as is getting a brand new car. I made an impulse (yet years though out, so not really) decision to get this, and waiting has led to many beers and nonsense lol.

Starting to think this was a sad banana idea...

I have asked them that same question many many times.

Some things just don't have a logical answer.

The things in Red will come from the port. Everything else will have to be installed at the dealership. Their prices SHOULD be higher than websites as they include labor for install. Not sure how their shop works, but ours is a Union shop and those guys get paid by the books. It can get very pricey on things like suspension bushings etc.
299 is a good price on the tint imho.

Yessir I believe that is exactly what he told me would be installed @ port.

I think i'll just have to bite the bullet to get exactly what I want.
This plus a carbon fiber plate delete up front will look nice. All the little carbon fiber details on a black car with BBS wheels and exhaust...

They have the red floor tint LED's stock with the 4dr limited right? I couldn't add it as an option but I think they already come standard.

My hatch was ordered 8/25. One week ago, I found out it was in the states at the railhead. It's a base WRX WRB with just a STS.

I expect a call any day between now, and the end of the month.

It's always good to verify with Mike or equivalent trustful professional salesman what is the necessary options and what you really don't need them, from Subaru.com configurator.

But while you wait for the car, I suggest you look into more serious details about the car you are going to have: ringland/stock tune issue

And once you read through all the posts addressing those issues, you may have a motivation to talk the price under $37000 OTD for a base Sti. I guarantee you won't add too much add-ons from Subaru.com once you know you need to spend $$$ on something far more important than a stock STS or crappy stock 10" Sub.

You may have anything that you can't find aftermarket i.e. wheel locks, compass mirro, OE Sti mats etc.

Navi and SPT exhaust is the only thing I feel worth the $ to have, well assume you like them, and you always can have aftermarket alternatives for those two say Panasonic or Invidia

For other stuff you can always have aftermarket and put them on yourself.

Right now as I am "dreaming" for my car, I got Air-oil separator, 1.2lb crank pulley, AccessPort, S204 wheels 18", BBS GD7 wheels 17" with Blizzak WS70, JDM plate, Ion yellow fogs, Nürburgring stickers...............

Mike,
Just curious...

Who installs the security shock sensor, Wheel locks, Auto dimming mirror with compass?

Factory, port or dealer?

<Huge edit.> Cliffnotes: A Cobb AccessPort or other reputable tune is a great investment. Just research warranty implications.

Now in regards to the accessories list, cut it in half. At least. Seriously. How often are you really going to notice and appreciate your CF B-pillar, Valve stem caps, SPT Steel Oil Cap, or Front Lip Spoiler. Those alone amount to $600+ of unnecessary swag, in my humblest of opinion lol. That $600 is much better spent on a Cobb AP or at least a half decent head unit and speakers.

Picking mine up on saturday. I cant believe it took only a week.

2013 STi Hatchback. WRB
Short throw shifter
Bluetooth

Basically they found a car that matched exactly what I wanted. Sadly its coming with the SPT exhaust too so I have to pay a little more for that, but ill just sell it straight away.

But meh, its worth it to get it so fast. I will post photos when it comes!

It really does seem that the trick is to order is as basic as you can and add on later.

A week later I called Balise and they promised a better deal but he needed to crunch numbers and would call me back...(He never called back), but atleast they had already looked at my trade from when I was checking out BRZ's and were willing to give me a good value.

In retrospect its a good thing they didn't call back...

...that same night I was texting my sister (recently bought a 2012 Impreza from Beard Subaru) and she suggested contacting her sales guy.

We'll he emailed me the night around 11pm! I told him what I wanted to pay and what I expected for my trade. Two days later he emailed me back with a better deal then what I asked for. I just needed to swing by and have them look at my 04 STI.

They loved it, and offered to lock in my trade value reguardless of how many more miles I put on it while waiting for the new car to come in.

So we wrote it all up, locked in the new car price, and trade value and signed for it. Basically all thats left is to work out the finance amount and how much I'm going to put down.

As far as I know...It the only STI on order that far pass the Canal.

Beard Subaru is a very small dealer, but Atlantic Subaru in Bourne is much MUCH larger and I assume they have some orders for WRX's and a few STI's.

Either:

A) Stay stock with a "dangerously" lean OEM tune, with higher chances of cracked ringlands. Should you be so unfortunate, Subaru probably replaces your motor.

B) Go aftermarket tune (Cobb AccessPort or other), remove the lean spots and increase reliability. But if your engine does happens to go for any reason (like a spun bearing), Subaru could very well tell you you're on your own. Cobb claims an unmarried AP cannot be found by Subaru, but I've read enough here to form an opposing opinion of that claim.

What it really boils down to is whether you are planning to drive a 305 hp STI or a 400+ hp STI. With the former, stock is sexy... tune not worth it solely for ringland protection, just put it on Subaru's tab. Their crappy tune, their problem. For the latter, your warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on anyhow, so research excessively, do things right, have fun and a solid bank account... or at least a lofty credit limit

Haha yup I saw your posts on some STOCK TUNE ISSUE posts on the internet. And I feel the same way as you said with respect to accessories

And hay "sharing" post is never a "late post"

All in all WRX/Sti drivers should be responsible for their cars in every aspect and take care the details and enjoy every seconds with the car. For me my Sti is equally important with my eyes.

Hey guys,

I'm about to put my order in for a 2013 STi Hatch with Nav, Popular Options Package 1, and Crossbars. Final price for the car is $36,183, with OTD at $38K. Is this a fair price? I notice in their itemization, that there's a doc fee of $499. I know that these fees aren't regulated in VA, but that is excessively high. Has anyone else ordered around the Northern Virginia area and seen these prices? I know I posted yesterday about a 38.4K offer, but I managed to negotiate it down, just wondering if there's even more room.

The reason cobb doesn't have the AP out, is because the ECU firmware was modified to such an extent by the subaru engineers that it had to be completely reverse engineered again.

What does this mean? Well, who knows speculation will have to suffice, but in my opinion this change means that they obviously modified the tune at LEAST during the process, hopefully to address the well known issue we know of with ring land failure.

Maybe flashing right off the lot won't be necessary with the 13's? Maybe they want the EJ25 to go out with style as they transition into the FB20?

That would be nice to basically already have a stage 1 tune out of the box. It would also be nice if there was a truck with my car on it waiting in Evanston's parking lot right now.
