Default Quick question... Does it have to be married?

I want to read a CEL I just threw after going catless. My buddy has an AP. Does it have to be married to my car for that?

I was able to pull up my buddies codes on my AP v2. I have a 05 wrx sedan and he has a 04 wrx wagon. It is married to mine but was still able to read his codes and data.

Generally, the version 2 AccessPORT should be able to read CEL codes from a different Subaru if it is a Subaru we normally support.
