Would anyone happen to know how the button, for an '04 STi, is assembled? In particular, the the parts that are located within the brown housing? The assembly of the button came apart as I was changing the light from green to red.

if u look at it closely, its pretty self explanatory. mine fell apart while changing the color but took a min to figure out where each piece went.

^this.
The only confusing part can be the piece of copper in there with the four (I think? Maybe five) "fingers". I had it upside down, and it wasn't making contact when the button was pushed in. I flipped it and there was power. I don't remember the orientation, but if you install it and don't get power, just flip it. |

The part that I can't figure out is the little metal bar circled in red. Where does this go?
![]() After figuring out where the metal copper goes, I tried different orientations. When I have it like in the two images below, as soon as I power up, water will spray even when the button isn't pressed. I'm guessing if I can figure out where that metal bar goes, then I can get it to work correctly. ![]() ![]() I also tried putting it the other way (the images below) and when I look at the copper bar when everything is assembled, the copper lays flat and it doesn't make contact w/ the copper leads on the white plastic because it can move. ![]() ![]() |

I think the circled metal piece is what makes the audible "click" when the button is pushed in. It should lay somewhere in the brown casing.
I might be able to take a pic of mine later tonight after work, or sometime tomorrow, if you haven't figured it out by then. |
