Default Who can rebuild/upgrade an IHI VF23?

It appears that my IHI VF23 has sprung an oil leak after less that 15K miles of fairly mild use (that or it had it from when I first bought it 2nd-hand). It's bleeding a little bit of oil from the intake out port at idle, and occasionally puking it out at high boost (my Blitz FMIC, tubing, and intake manifold will need some serious cleaning, so I need info on that as well). I talked to Forced Performance, and was told to do some checks, which included checking the oil return line for clogging (wouldn't the oil pressure blow odd the rubber hose if it was clogged?), and checking the impeller shaft play. Since I already have a catch can keeping upstream oil out of the turbo, I think that the seal is compromised . They also said that they don't do IHI rebuilds.

So... who can rebuild and improve/upgrade an IHI turbo? How should I clean the FMIC and tubing (I can readily remove them), intake manifold (PITA to get out)?

n2xlr8n - thanks for reminding me of them - I bought a fuel pump from them at one point, and was discussing their selection of WRX turbos. Josh just told me that ALL IHI turbos leak a little bit of oil. Used ones, new ones, it doesn't matter, they all leak a little bit "because of the oil pressure that those cars run at." He also reinforced removing the turbo and checking for play, and checking the return line for clogging.

I'm not sure what you mean by "beefing up", but if that's possible, Turbo Specialties can do it for you....call 'em.

Default Need parts to service a IHI VF turbo

Anyone know were can I get a set of new seal rings, for the compressor and turbine ends ?
I have 2 x IHI VF 24 turbos that need this rings to be changed, and cannot use them.

Thanx.

Thanks for the reference to Turbo Specialties.

I'm changing out my turbo again soon and it will be helpful for me to have a list of such shops in case the person buying my old turbo wants to do any "work" to it first.

Regards,
