Took delivery of my sport premium on Dec 26 2011, up to 22k+ miles right now. My commute is about 120 miles/day. But life is better since this car. My 95 legacy wagon was dying and taking me with it lol. In 5 years I racked up 240k miles on that poor bastard. I bought it from some soccer mom at 53k miles in 2006. Only serious issue was some solenoids gummed up in the rear diff and took out the AWD. A good tranny shop opened it up and fixed it for 500 bucks. dealer wanted about 2k for new tranny. I did all my own maintenance otherwise including FULL timing belt jobs.

Used 4 of 5 free dealer oil changes with 2 of my own in between to solve oil light issues that come up in the middle of the 7500 mile oil change interval the dealer uses. Now I just drop a quart in every 3k and will use a 5k interval after last dealer freebie.

I just drove like 375 miles today, I think it has got to be the most mileage I've put on in a day.

I may be way off with this idea. Can there be a difference in MPG with 100% gas vs 90% gas and 10% ethanol? Or how about winter gas vs summer gas? Different parts of the US even different parts of a state use different blends of gas. Would any of this matter? My first post.

All of it matters to some degree.

Most definitely. Gasoline has about 60% more "energy" per unit mass (weight) than ethanol. The difference in density depends on the gasoline mixture, but ethanol can be up to 8% denser. A rough estimate would be 50% more energy per gallon of gas compared to a gallon of ethanol.

TL;DR A 10% ethanol blend will have about 5% less energy than 100% gasoline.

Welcome. It seems most stations here use a blend of 90:10, so it would be hard to avoid unless you get premium grade gas.

I got my car in Feb. I'm at 28k this week. Just got back from work trips to Nashville and Va Beach. The cabin filter is easy to change. Open the glove box, there is a plastic piston on the right. Pull that off gently. There are two tabs on the left and right inside the glove box. Press those in toward the center of the glove box. It takes some muscle. This will drop the glove box down. The filter is right in front of you. It takes about 3 minutes. I would change it every other oil change or at least clean it with air compressor.
I haven't noticed any new creaks or cracks at 28k. Worst problem I have are paint chips on the grill and a cracked windshield. 2 months to get a windshield in and at $500. I like to ride with the windows down in the summer and a small amount of road dust has collected on the headliner around the top of the drivers and passenger side windows. I haven't had time to clean it.

Wow, 28k in 6-7 months is no joke. Hope you bought an extended warranty.

I checked mine at 12,000 miles. I just blew it out with my air compressor. It's not like an engine air filter, it will just stop the big pieces.

Man, you sure do drive a lot! How are the stock Yokos holding up? Im at 9 months and almost 9000 miles. How long do you think you have before you need new tires? Any particular brands? I habe mixed feeling about tire wear, a part of me wants them to wear out soon so I can get Conti DWSs or Pilot Sports AS but the other part wants them to last for 5 years so I dont have to open my wallet for new rubber.

They're holding up well. I've had them rotated 3 times. I can tell a difference in rain though from new until now. I'll get 40,000 out of them. I had the pilot sport AS's on my BMW. They didn't last long at all. Maybe 18,000 miles. I haven't started doing any research yet on what my next set will be.

That's good to hear, not too bad for a tire that people were so eager to replace one they got their hands on the car. Maybe you read about those who changed tires as soon as they got them, but most of those were probably in snowbelt areas and up north. I had Pilot Sports on my previous cas, an Acura TL, I sold the car with 25,000 on the tires, they held up pretty well, lots of tread by Costco gave me an old batch so I had dry rot within 2.5 years and probably 50% tread life left. Keep us updated on the mileage and drive safe!

I'm stuck in a dilemma, I kind of wish my Yokohamas would wear out faster so I could install my new 18" rims and tires, until then I'm unsure what to do with my OEM 17" rims and tires. I was planning to plasti dip them and mounting some winter tires on them but it seems like a waste of a set of perfectly fine tires (even though the Yokohama AVID S34D suck) though.

Just passed 27k a few days ago, dealer said I needed new air, and cabin filters, new pcv valve and my yoko's are on way out. All together costing close to 750.00.
Got a K&N air filter #33-2304 - 35.00
wix cabin filter #24030 - 24.00
subaru pcv valve - #11810AA130 - 23.90+tax at dealer (could not find it on-line)
Firestone precision sport tires at a mom/pop tire spot - 150 ea (includes free tire rot's when needed)

I didn't save too much over dealer pricing but I'm happier with the air filter and tires. I still haven't found the PCV valve location. Probably staring right at it and just can't see the forest for the trees lol. I posted the part numbers since it is pretty hard to find some of these things for this car. Hope it helps.

19K delivered 5/28/12. Would probably have 5,000 more but I put those on the loaners they gave me since my car has been nonstop in the shop since I got it.

2012 impreza premium CVT. 46,000 miles. No issues. Change oil every 6k miles myself (highly recommend fumoto valve) and still running stock tires. Nearing end tread life though. Probably 5,000 miles left.
