Pros:
Cheap
Can make you love something you hate currently (when I painted my wheels I loved my car all over again)
Can be removed if you hate it/want something different

Cons:
Its not permanent, and can get messed up (they do make a kit to fix these issues, but I haven't tried it)
If you don't put enough coats on it, it can be hard to remove...

If you have something in mind, I say try it. Painting my wheels cost me about $20 and I love the results. They make lost of colors and have everything you need + videos on how to do it here www.dipyourcar.com

It doesnt "chip" off that easily. It will take a beating and hold on. The only real con is every little speck of dust becomes magnetized to your car.

Why didn't you search? There are giant plasti dip threads.

It's great, cheap, removable. Buy it and see for yourself that's the whole point.

But why search when people can spoon feed answers to lazyness?

I know but at $8 a can why not just go for it? I heard that it was spray on removable black paint and said COOOOOOL, I'll try it for myself and I love it.
