Default AEM Tru-Boost Gauge

Ok guys.. I just installed my gauge without the boost solenoid temporarily and am having some wiring issues.

The wire bundle has 5 wires: 2 red, black, orange, and grey.

I tested the gauge before installing to make sure it worked and I had a proper ground. With the ground connected I tied both the red wires together and ran a wire straight to the battery to ensure the ground was connected properly. Check. I then took one. The red wires of to find whic red wire was constant and which was not. I took the constant and hooked it in to the radio power. Turned the car on and nothing. Disconnected that and wire in directly to the fuse slot and it worked. Went to take the car for a ride and the gauge went out. Went to autozone to get a plug in fuse with pigtail connect it and it still wouldn't work.

I'm in a holding pattern now trying to diagnosis what is going on and I keep coming to a dead end.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I just looked up the truboost manual on AEM's site and it lists both red wires as switched ignition wires, not sure if they did a redesign but I'd suspect this being a reason you're having problems.
