Default 2011 clutch gone bad! not under warranty?!

I got a 2011 WRX with 30k on it and the clutch started to slip on 3rd gear and up just past 4000rpm, so I took it for 30k service today and after charging me $900 for 30k service! now they're telling me the clutch pressure plate is bad and needs to be replace and it's wear and tear item and not covered under warranty! any of u guys had any experience with this? any recommendation?
the only reason I took it to the dealer was the warranty otherwise who fu*kin charges $900 for 30k service? and I thought clutch is under warranty...
the car is a daily driver with no mods.. my clutch was catching up way too high but I was told that's normal on my car..
any suggestion is welcome
cheers

I would suggest putting a new clutch in it... it is a wear item, just like brakes, sorry...

30k on it means either
A. it was somehow defective, alas you drove it 30kmi that way... Someone told you the clutch was acting normal? was it the dealer? did it still feel wrong and you not persist?

B. you suck pretty bad with the clutch...

lol, I don't think I suck at clutch... maybe.. but it's not my first manual car.
My friend has the same car and his clutch feels so much better and yes, the dealer told me that's how they are! Hard!

Stop being a girl. Go to the dealer and DEMAND a new clutch. It is your RIGHT. Open your owner's manual kit and fish out the brochure that deals with the warranty. In it, you will see that the warranty includes WEAR ITEMS to include brakes and windshield wipers. March back into the dealer and commence:

1. Bitch slapping with the warranty booklet everyone who gives you guff.
2. Demand to speak to the owner and ask them why you know more about warranty work than the so called professionals who work there. Then bitch slap him with the warranty book.

Wear items are included, i harassed the dealer every 6 months for new wipers.
They do replace the clutch, but from what i hear they only do it once.

ok I went and bought a bitch slapper 2000 in SWP color and went back to the dealer, I went for a test drive with the master mechanic and after almost stalling the car he pointed that my clutch is not adjusted right and catches too high! he drove 200ft and said ur clutch is gone and he asked if I have any mods done to the engine... he said because ur pressure plate wasn't adjusted right this happend and then he told me it's covered under warranty despite what the service guy BSed me yesterday. went back to the dealer and now I'm getting a new clutch thanks to the Bitch Slapper 2000, if anyone is looking for a used one let me know :P
thanks a lot for all the help boyz, definitely helped!
and Uncle Scotty, it looks like I know how to drive!

What did they do for $900? A 30k on your car should be oil, rotate, brake fluid, air filter, trans/diff fluids. We charge $400 for everything.
