Ok! Thats fine. Im know they are great tires at a GREAT cost. The guy was asking for help with a tire selection. I told him Michelin. Its an opinion. No need to start an argument. Just give your 2 cents and leave it at that.

jaredej20t - working for marketing at Michelin does not make you tire guru. If you were in R&D or QA then definitely yes.

Michelin does make quality tires but they are not best bang for the buck.

I was going to say. Since when does anyone with a functional brain-stem listen to marketing? I have seen the sort of "data" our marketing group puts out where I work. Most of it makes me laugh, the rest makes me worry about someone getting sued. Probably why they keep me in R&D/Tech service.

And no, I don't work for an automotive company. But lets face it, yes objective tests the Super Sports are great tires, but they also cost serious money. Probably worth it if you are driving a Porsche 911 or a Ferrari, but on a Subaru come on.

Sooooo. I bought a set of Federal for like 500 bucks to my door...

Figured I'd save the 600 bucks going for the Michelin's and buy some new pads, rotors, and stainless brake lines.

for the price tag, if they perform 75% as well as the michelins at half the cost, and I put money into hard parts, its money well spent.

For what its worth, I've gone out on a limb for advice and Uncle Scotty has yet to steer me wrong. He's a pretty valuable resource of knowledge, and I'd put his dime over most's dollar to anything!

Lol. So... I just read this post again, because I bought the Federal's, and have been absolutely digging 'em.

In all fairness, I'm sure there are better performing tires, but bang for buck, these tires are rad.
