Default debating on new Head Unit.

ive got everything else. so no need for aftermarket questions.
ive got a 4 channel, sub amp and my 2 way setup picked out.

i currently have the old school Alpine 7998. i love this deck but im tired of carrying around cd's. yeah i still use them.

ive been out of the audio world for years so i have no clue on what to get nowadays since every company seems to be bought out by a company overseas. what kind of head unit should i put in my 03?
i would like bluetooth so i can use Spotify, or would look into a cable for better quality. which companies are good these days? friend suggested the new kenwood decks. they are pretty slick. its got to compete with my 7998.

not sure if i want an indash screen. thieves love them. I do have a 2 way pager alarm on it though. but i am open for suggestions!

If you can stick with the 7998. Another SQ option would be the DEX-P99RS expensive but, worth it for the processing power. Will play lossless directly from an ipod using digital out.

Kenwood is awesome, if you stick with Excelon. Pioneer, Kenwood and Clarion all make great gear with plenty of features with a good bang for the buck. JVC is a pretty good low-priced alternative.

Are you trying to hook up a complete system or just looking for a change?

How about the Alpine CDE-HD149bt. Decent eq and features for the money. The menus aren't that bad either and it is cheap.
