Default IMCO Catalytic Converter

My OEM on my 153000 mile Forester crapped out and I was unable to pass emissions.

The dealer I bought the car from 2 weeks has agreed to replace the cat since they essentially sold me a car that could not emissions. They literally sold me the car 2 days after they got in on trade and they probably didn't even inspect the vehicle over.

The dealer is going to work with a local muffler shop that has an excellent reputation here in Franklin, TN.

I called the muffler shop and asked them what catalytic converters they will install. They said they will be installing a California IMCO cat on the vehicle. I asked them if the cat comes with the piping and they said it essentially a custom job. It's about an $800 value.

Anyone have familiarity with Imco catalytic converters? Anyone have a muffler shop do a custom cat job on their Scoobie?

Thanks
