Hey everyone, I had another thread with some of my updates of my STi started, but that was about a year ago, and it included pictures of when I first got it from the previous owner, and I have made a bunch of changes since then. So I am starting this new thread, with how it sits now as my starting point, as I am just now beginning to feel like it is "mine."
Let me know what you all think. I'm welcome to comments and critcism. I know that it needs suspension/wheels and some new tint. 2005 STi Aspen White ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have the stock trunk/wing, but I also have a wingless one, as I like both styles, and I can switch them up as I feel. A few more:
![]() ![]() Fresh coat of wax on the CF. It is a constant battle trying to maintain this, especially in the Georgia sun, but I stay on top of it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Like I mentioned, I am just now starting to feel like it's my car. So this is my starting point, and now I can begin the modding! ![]() Besides wheels, suspension, and new tint, I am very happy with the way the car sits. I will do some power mods eventually, but for now, even on the vf39, its quick enough for me. Especially coming from owning an 05 2.5rs for 6 years. Next step for power really is injectors and bigger turbo, but this vf39 was replaced and it only has like 50k miles on it, so it still feels pretty healthy. I may do uppipe and headers before then, but probably all at once so I can have it tuned after and won't have to do that twice. Thanks for checking it out! Had a rainy day here today, so I did a decent detailing on the interior. I pulled out the front seats and waxed the door jambs. It's not perfect, but you gotta keep in mind the car is almost 8 years old.

Looks great, how many times have you been stopped for no front plate in Vermont? If at all.

I'm from Vermont, family still lives there. I live with my GF in Georgia now. I have the plate in the car though, and I'll throw it back on in VT, or at least up in the windshield. I used to get pulled over occasionally for it. I know it's the law in VT, but I wish they had something better to do.
You can get away with a warning if you still have it in the car, and tell them you had it off to do some work on the front end. |

Yea, I hear you there. The car came with the CF hood. I've grown to like it. I hated it at first, because nothing else was black, but with the vinyl tints on the taillights, and the black wheels it comes together a little better. Since I bought the car, I've been on the prowl for an Aspen White 04/05 RS hood for cheap.
Thanks for the comments!! |

I recently moved, which always costs some money, so for now the car is going to sit the way she is. The only thing I have un-installed is an 06/07 roof vane spoiler, but its a one piece carbon fiber. If i install, I will go back to the wingless trunklid. I need to do some maintenance as well, as I try to keep her as healthy as I can. Then- the modding will continue. I will keep everyone posted.

Fuse box cover is from some company I came across in Canada. I forget the name right now, but it'll come back to me.

Suspension will most likely be the next "big" thing. The struts are stock, and the car as 111k on it now, so they are starting to get noisy. I want wheels, however i'd rather it handle well and sit right on stock wheels than have it look good and handle wrong.

![]() With the sti winged trunk: ![]() With the wingless trunk: ![]() I'm going to go the body shop route also, because I'm going have the "feet" of the spoiler painted asepn white to match, leaving the center section carbon. i think it flows better when they are color matched.. more 06/07 oem look. |

Also have considered sti limited lip spoiler for the wingless trunk... just for a small touch to go along with the rear of the car.

I generally like wingless more often.. (cleaner and more "sleeper") however I do like the winged trunk also... (not sure if its just because its my car or what?) either way i have both trunks and they are quick to change to either one.
