Default V7 JDM HID headlights Leveling Switch?

What exactly is the leveling switch and leveling motor? Do all JDM/EDM headlights for the bugeye come with them?

The JDM switch has a 4 spot adjustment. The motors are on the back of the lights. 4 is lowest and 0 is the highest. There is a 6 spot switch. I think it's edm. As I understand it has the same amount of movement. It's worth getting the harness and switch if you have these lights.

I rewired mine to the spot where the dccd would normally be.

Is manual adjustment of the headlights possible without the motors?

Yes, they always have the manual screws to adjust each headlight independently. The motors are another movement "on top" of the manual adjustment. In other words if you dont wire the motors you can still aim your lights with a screwdriver.

There is a write up in scoobymods on how to wire this up.

I've got all the parts and connectors, I just need the time to put mine together.

I bought new Deutsche connectors to make a nice clean install.

So with the leveling switch could you basically make them Lhd instead of rhd?

No, the leveling motors and switch only allow in-cabin aiming of the headlights on 4 different positions. If your headlings lights the wrong side if the road this will not change that.

To correct that you need to replace or modify the shields inside the headlights, or retrofit a different projector. There are threads on this, search for SHIELD RDH LDH or search for RETROFIT.
