Hello,
Just a quick question about buying a new 2013 WRX. I am currently deciding between the premium and limited trims and I am quite stumped on which to choose. The only differences are the limited has leather seats, HID headlights, and costs about $1000 more. The HIDs are a huge plus for me but I could retrofit my headlights with HIDs for about $300. The question I have is does the WRXs interior feel more high quality with the leather seats? I know this is sort of a weird question, but even though it still has a bunch of hard plastics and such on the interior, does the leather bring it to a different level than the premium and base trims? I haven't had the chance to sit in a WRX with leather, only ones with cloth. If it does, I believe that it would be worth the extra $700. If there are any other suggestions please don't hesitate. Any help is appreciated. Thanks ![]()

I have a 2012 limited and I like the leather seats in my car. The only thing I don't like is that u slide out during some aggressive driving. And the factory HIDs are great(in my opinion)

I have a 2012 WRX Limited and I believe the leather and HID's are worth every penny. I say big thumbs up.

I've sat in the limited at the dealer and It made me regret not waiting to find a limited and getting a premium. The seats are so much nicer than the wrx cloths if you ask me.

On a list of good ideas, retrofitting HIDs on a car that didn't come with thrm is about as smart as Hitler's invasion of Poland. I wish you kids would research more and think less. You could spend less than $50 and get quality bulbs that would OUTPERFORM the lighting of HIDs, but then you'd have to go to www.danielsternlighting.com and do some actual research. $50 bulbs could save you $1000 in this decision.

Leather seats, HIDs, Navigation, etc... All worth every single penny. Couldn't be happier.

Unless you are a person that isn't inclined to change things ever, getting those options from the factory is fine. But honestly, you can get those same options much cheaper after the fact. A good HU with nav and a proper HID retro are much cheaper than OEM and will perform better.

And a SUNROOF!!! I love my limited, I don't care what other Subie owners say about sliding around on leather and it being too expensive, they get the ohs and ahs when they see the bells and whistles. If you want to get the nicest and most comfortable WRX, get the limited, if you know your going to mod it to hell and back, get a base.

If i would get a premium and decided to retrofit my headlights I would probably go through "theretrofitsource.com" and try to do them myself. The point about the warranty is a good one though.

I was in a similar boat. I went with the Limited because I liked how the leather looked, felt, and easier to wipe down. The HIDs and fogs also had the "look" that I wanted. Basically it went from a performance econobox to a poor man's Audi. I'm considering adding some soundproofing for a little extra refinement. I don't regret ponying up the extra cash for those extra amenities.

just took delivery of my 2012 limited this past weekend. my wife and i went through the exact same decision. i am really glad we went with the limited. i think the interior is sharper with the leather and like the hid lights better. for a grand, i believe it is money well spent. you get to enjoy those couple things while you own it and recoup some of the money when you sell it.

I am honestly taken by complete surprise with all of the recommendations to go with the limited. I would've thought that I would have had a lot of people saying to go with the premium and spend money on other upgrades. Thanks a lot for everyones input!

Another limited checking in. There are better leather seats out there, and there are better HIDs out there, but for the price of admission it is definitely worth it. Quality wise, and after sitting in both cars, it was a no brainer. I would recommend my path -- skip the navi and just do an aftermarket double din system.

^ THIS! The factory nav is just an aftermarket unit that is poorly integrated, IMO. I passed on that as well. The leather is far from the nicest stuff out there, but it does look far better than the cloth. It adds a touch more elegeance and steers away from the boy racer feel to me. It is also a MUST if you have dogs, kids, or plan on having either. My dog drools a bit in the car and it is so easy to wipe off. I can't image how drool-soaked my cloth would be at this point.
The HIDs are not impressive to me, at ALL. I upgraded them to a different setup, but the OEM HIDs are still FAR better than the halogens on the Premium. No brainer here. Well worth the grand upgrade. Stop considering and start doing! |
