Almost forgot a couple things. You asked about the setup, these were all taken with a Sony A77 and the Sony 70-200 2.8. No tripod, but I'm glad I had my TAD gear hoody on because it allowed me to keep the dirt clods off me after each racer passed lol.
Thanks! I think the term you are looking for is selective coloring or selective saturation. The background actually isn't black and white. There is some color there. I used the adjustment brush in LR and turned it down by 60% or so.

Again, great shots! I really liked them. I look forward to more.

XERO, it seems that some of your shots are a bit dark don't you think?

I felt like those shots needed a darker tone to them.

Here's another:

Ah ok, yes that lol! Yea you can tell it's not b/w, which is I think what I like about it. I love lightroom, I definitely need to learn to use photoshop too though, I fell like a kid at the control panel of a power plant in that program.

Xero- nice shots dude, I really like those. Seeing other people's wide angle shots helps tremendously. I like the darkened tone.

I wasn't gonna brave that weather like 07LegacyGT. Instead I snapped a few just before it really started to come down...

So I'm on vacaion in Newport Beach, CA.... went to cars and coffee in Irvine yesterday and on the way to breakfast after this MP4-12C along with a 458 Italia Spyder and 430 Scuderia blasted past us as we were going 95... probably @ 120-130. We caught up to them and in the process I swapped lenses, hung out the window and took this shot.

Also a few more, from cars and coffee yesterday. 5d2/50L:

I would have tried to leave the shutter open a little longer. It'll really make the MP4-12C pop. but hey, for an impromptu photo, looks cool.

I had like 15 seconds to fix settings, swap lenses and attempt to get some shots. My friends car has stiff suspension so I didn't want to go much lower than 1/60 which is what I took the pic at pretty sure.

Awesome pics. Subjects don't get much better than that! Rolling shot looks awesome to me. I couldn't tell it was rushed. I wish it was a little closer though. Do you have a cropped version by any chance?

This looks faster than 1/60 to me. Nevermind, I forgot you were rolling.

Posted this is the WRX/STi thread, but I went up to Flagstaff today to spend some time in the snow and snapped a few pics. Just did a little sharpening in CS3, but I'm not really well versed in Photoshop so if you I'd love some suggestions. I'll have to get the photo info when I get home from work tonight.
