Because whatever lust you have for it now will grow exponentially after you've used one, especially coming from a Rebel.

I've never rented anything. If you end up buying it, then the rental was just a waste of money.

But what if I don't like it and wasted $3500?

I'm not buying anything, I'm just curious to see what pro gear is like.

Buy used and sell it for a profit if you don't like it.

Some old ones, but it's something to look at. All with my 18-55mm ( my only lens at the time and not much editing.

Sorry, it just looks really bad right above the spoiler and car. Some more editing or a better lens will fix that

Haha, nobody. This is an old picture and I was using Corel at the time. I don't have the original picture anymore so I can't re-edit it.

Default Borrow Lenses

I have personally rented from borrow lenses. I rented out 70-200 f2.8 II because I can't afford to purchase it new. It is a great option for those who need a specific lens for an event. They also offer customers insurance in case something happens. I think it is a great idea to rent if you don't have a few grand to invest in glass, you just have to be extra careful.

Some cameras have it in the menu, however some require it to be sent to the manufacturer for the shutter count.

Yeah I didn't see it in my menu options. I bet I easily have 5,000+ in less than a year.

Your file number is one way assuming its never been reset or screwed up.

There are some applications available. EOSCount may work on your body.

One of my 5DIIs is under 500. Got real lucky with that refurb.

I've taken more than that in a day before. I probably have a couple hundred thousand on most of my bodies.

The most I ever took in a day was a little over a thousand. It was my first time at the track with my zoom and attempting panning. I usually take a couple hundred a week of the kids and random stuff. (obviously not all keepers)
