Light was quite rash and various in this area. Had to really tweak settings. Still not satisfied.

It looks a little odd that the ground is blown out under the car. I'm assuming there was a light about it.

Here' a tip. Next time you find yourself in a touch situation, lighting wise. If you have a tripod, take two separate exposures and overlay them in photoshop. If done properly, it will look like a typical, perfectly exposed photo, and no one will even know

I hear that man. I need a tripod as well. I borrowed my friend's tripod for this shot and a bunch of other shots i took that night in the same area. The rest are at the bottom of this album:

As I said before, the lighting situation sucked up there so even after withdrawing so much lighting, artificiality sort of evolved. Got some cool effects out of it though, i guess, lol.

Just a quick post to show my latest...

My images were used for the latest Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car edition. I wasn't credited correctly, they didn't use the images I really wanted them to and they edited and cropped my shots really weird after the fact...but it is still cool to see them in a magazine.

OK I need some opinions. I've been doing a lot of research. Would you guys buy the 70-200 f/4L IS, or go for the 70-200f/2.8L non IS. They are about the same price. Is it worth it or just save for the 2.8 IS?

I would think at a 30 second exposure it would pick up more light than that. Must be pitch black out there haha.

Yea you'd think it'd be a little brighter..maybe try dropping the apeture even down to the 3.5 the 18-200mm can go, and don't be afraid to play with your iso (not too much you'll go blind)

Well there definitely isn't as much light as there would be in a city down in the lower 48...Plus it was pouring down rain some of the times and cloudy so no Moonlight. I also darkened the sky in both pictures because I thought it distracted from the cars in the picture.

It definitely was pitch black out on the two locations we did pick. The AKIC chapter has a monthly photo contest with prizes and this month's theme was nighttime pictures so I think these will be our submissions.
