Here's my style on it. I tried to sharpen it but the image is so small the lines got a little jagged. What do you think? It looks way better in Lightroom than it does on Flickr because Flickr sharpens anyway.

Looks like it has too much sharpen for sure, I didn't want to go that far because of the jagged line effect that's happening there. Still looks kickass though

If it was on the full size image it wouldn't have that effect but I downloaded the one you posted so it's all I had to work with. I would maybe get rid of the vignetting as well because it darkens only the corners of the sky and looks a little unnatural. Just my opinion, I'm no pro.

Wow, there are tons of great photos in this thread. I have been shooting with a DSLR for a number of years but do not have a lot of experience with cars yet.
This is my 2010 WRX Limited 5-door. Shot with a Canon 5D MKII and two strobes bare triggered by Radiopoppers-- lens was the 70-200 2.8. Full EXIF info in the images. This was the first time I shot a car with strobes.. obviously I need to use a filter to cut out the reflections. ![]() ![]() |

I figured there was a reason being that you have all that high end gear. I love my 85. I can only imagine how the 1.2 is!

Sometimes I like the look of not using a CPL.

Photography is art, not rule. The only thing incorrect in art, is saying someone's work is incorrect.

That's why if you read my statement it agrees with what you just said. You are exactly right, there is no correct way. Obviously if a shot is under exposed or blurry that's a different story but style and preference is all on the shooter.

![]() However, as I just picked up my A77 shooting at crazy angles is rather hilariously easy (with good light) via the pop out articulated viewfinder. |

Under/over exposure and blur is also part of some photographer's styles. |

Maybe you guys can give me some advice. I was just playing around with setting manual focus points on my T2i. Am I better off selecting the center point and using that to shoot a vehicle? It seems that every time I use my AF it is completely unreliable and takes me 5 or 6 times to get the focus I desire. I never seem to get a completely sharp image. Maybe I'm better off going manual focus?
Example. It seems like this focused on the ground and the front wheel and the front end is soft. I was shooting wide open at 1/8 so should I expect the back of the car to be soft even at this slight of an angle? Is there a way to use all the focus points at once? <----Noob question. ![]() |
