Truth, if you want to just cover the activities outside of race cars going by ie. paddock, still cars... ect your kit lens would be plenty good. But it's an addicting hobby and expensive one at that. Soon you'll want a bunch of L lenses... happy shooting.

Thanks for the help. I do IT/tire work for continental tire, so we are at all events and tests.

That engine bay looks mean. Is your pass side headlight really foggy looking or is that just the pictures?

It's just really foggy...I baked them 2 years ago, and it has been getting worse. Time to fix it now that the car is worth looking at.

Shots look great. Anyone have any experience with the Canon 35mm f/2? I'm looking for an inside the house lens and my 50mm gets a little tight sometimes.

This is an HDR shot I took of my Impreza overlooking downtown Columbus, Ohio. I used a 60D and 24-105L.

The birds were a nice unplanned treat.

I agree. Looks like an overcast day, so no real need for HDR. More like you just turned up the contrast (a bit too much) on a flat image.

HDR is so awful, it's almost always over the top

I think it's usually used to cover up improperly exposed photos or lack of editing ability. I'm not saying that he personally can't (wechance).
