Tinting driver/passenger side mirrors?

This idea just popped in my head tonight after constantly being blinded by vehicles (especially trucks) behind me. Their lights shine right into my mirrors. I don't want to tint my front windows so I was thinking of tinting the mirrors. Any thoughts on this? Stupid idea?

tint film would probably just peel off.
you could try something like nightshades which is really for taillights. Not sure how well it would bond w/ glass.

Other option would the prova (I think) replacement mirrors that have some coloration to decrease glare.
