Please enlighten me. Whenever I sit in a bucket the bolsters are much higher than my waist. The stock seat belt rests on the bolster and not my waist. Now how is that going help keep me from submarining under the seat? It dosent. I'm a good 2-3 inches away from the lap belt.

I'm running Recaro Profi's in my car (the XL), and I use my factory seat belt. the belt does not go over the bolster, it goes through the belt slots on both sides, works great and the belt fits just like the factory seat.
I love the seat for a daily driver, very comfortable. I had Recaro SRDs before the fixed back seat, and I'm glad I changed. Your best bet is go to a few local track days or auto-x and ask guys if you can check out their seat, sitting in as many as you can is the only way you will know. |

Does anyone know what the weight savings of a typical seat are? What is the weight of the stock seat?

If you want cheap ones go get the aluminum buckets off of Jegs or Summit. If you want them for looks get some Corbeaus or Ebay brand. If you wan them for safety and performance get some Recaros or Sparcos or anything FIA certified. If you want ridiculously expensive and to look cool get Brides but you'll lose quality.
I had Corbeau CR-1s in a daily. But them when I was young and dumb. They were okay for short drives and such but the lack of a headrest, lumbar support, and so on made it undesirable to drive the car great distances. Butall of these are my opinion and you may have different likes and dislikes than me. Find something that works for you, something you like, something that will work for you. In my opinion if you want it to work with the stock seatbelt, take the guide off of your stock seat and mount it to the racing seat so it still works, has a decent angle and so on. F-Body guys have been doing that for years because of the lack of quality built harness bars. |
