Someone needs to figure out how to monitor the vehicles that enter and leave this place:

But that is moot since a few quick searches turned up these posts, likely by the same guy, at two different websites:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...5#post38005595
http://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum...ter-nj-991380/
So I conclude he was referring to Edgewater, NJ, which is across the Hudson from Manhattan. I've no idea why a 2014 WRX would be hanging around that part of New Jersey or how he could recognize it as such

Yep there is an edgewater in Jersey, and I just can't see why there would be a mule over there....also that poster hasn't responded after making that comment.

Copy...makes sense.

Good point. As far as we know, could they both not be WRX mules testing different components, or BRZ mules for that matter.

SOA HQ is in Jersey. If there's a better reason for a 2014 to be there and not somewhere else, I can't think of it.

SOA HQ is a hundred miles away from Edgewater, NJ. Heck, Edgewood, Maryland is closer to SOA HQ than Edgewater, NJ and it's two states away.

Maybe because the R&D Center is in Ann Arbor, MI.

Instead of worrying about Edgewater and why there'd be a test mule there, let's first confirm if this even truly was a 2014 WRX mule. No proof has been presented as of yet.

Either way, with the new '14 Forester photos leaked, I think it's safe to say that concerning the body style (which is the elephant in the room right now) is going to likely have the same front-end features that the new Subarus have been sporting. Hawkeye headlights with a sideways "L" shape on the inside and a larger grille with the logo flanked by two chrome wings. The 2012 Impreza has this, the Crosstrek, the new front-end on the Legacy and Outback, and now the 2014 Forester all have these features. Even the BRZ's headlights reflect this unifying design, so I think it's safe to say the WRX will.

Does that fall in with the Advanced Tourer Concept? Supposedly the WRX/STI will use styling cues from it.

So far, all of those models I just listed are using the headlight cues from the ATC. The grille shape is pretty close to what we've been seeing, but it's considerably larger than anything Subaru has. Those silver blades inset on the lower right and left of the bumper haven't shown up on anything, but the general shape of the front end design resembles that of the 2013 Legacy and 2012/13 Impreza right now.

Those are just test mules. They are testing the new 2.0 liter engine in the heat under that Frankensteined body. Figured that would be obvious.

If Subaru would give us this new Forester XT with a stick I wouldn't have to worry about the WRX coming in a proper wagon form, like the ATC. But they won't, so I have to.

I just hope an XT gets here at all, regardless of transmission.

Be sure to "get lost" and drive all the way around to the back (with camera handy). There's a fence back there, but don't let that stop you.

Are you referring to the "Square C" like the one that is LED in the BRZ?

It kinda has to. They have to have something to shop against the V-6s out there.

I almost bought a Focus ST yesterday. I figure it will compare very closely to whatever the next gen WRX will be. The WRX will inevitably be more expensive with worse fuel economy. I'd get a dedicated winter tire set for either car so the AWD isn't a boon over the FWD ST.

I will try to wait and see what Subaru has in store for us, but if the WRX hatch/wagon (if there is one) with nav is over $30k, under 30mpg and in the same 45 cubic foot rear cargo range as the ST and the new Impreza hatch I'd just have the Focus ST instead. However marginally faster the WRX might be won't matter to me. I kept hearing about how fun the ST is to drive... well I can confirm it beats almost everything else AWD/FWD I've driven to date in that department. Fun > numbers.

AWD with winter tires >>>> FWD with winter tires????

Have you driven a MS3? If so, how does the ST compare to it?
