What car did you see? The only thing that will be in the 2014 model that you see in that picture is under the hood. I am confused as to what you saw that made you change your mind.

He's the same kind of derp who saw the fabricated Dodge Caliber looking rendering and immediately launched into a diatribe about how the new WRX looks terrible and how they won't buy one.

It's almost not even worth wading through the sea of tards to get to some actual information.

Other people kind of noticed that some days it was being trailed by Toyotas then the next it was Subarus. Aren't the wheels the same for both cars? Just a matter of the center cap?

This doesn't mean that this is what the car is going to look like. It could be to test technology, like the first BRZ test cars which were not at all in appearance to what we got.

Notice how it has no widebody.

Then again they have said that they may make the STI a separate call all together. So the WRX could be the Legacy GT of the Impreza line and STI something new all together. This car as it stands would not be able to be used in the WRC f it retains the stock impreza body, something I know a release WRX will not retain even if it is just an upgrade of the Impreza. I doubt they will make one without a widebody and just a stock Impreza body again after the 11/12. However this is the reason why I bought a 12 and decided not to wait, lol. I suspected at least a much smaller car and a 2.0 (or a 1.6) which I wanted neither of. It would be hilarious if its because of this instead.

That's weird, because I just ordered one.

Have you seen it?

I ordered a number of things that were not out yet that I had no idea what it would look like because there was no word yet. Warcraft Adventures, '00 Eclipse (which I swiftly canceled), an AMD processor for a computer build.....

The mule pictured was most likely being tested by TRD.. Yes, Subaru developed the car, but TRD developed their own accessories (ie: the body kit & wing).

Subaru does not parade their pre-production cars around in public.. and the only reason we eventually saw the BRZ dressed up like the Toyota (ie: swirly vinyl wrapped) was due to Toyota's influence.

You can't expect the next WRX will show up with so little camo until they're ready to show it to the press... and even then it will be a miracle if someone manages to snag a picture. This is, historically, how Subaru has operated with new vehicle releases... the BRZ being a single exception due to the unique partnership with Toyota.

No, he's saying the BRZ and FR-S share the same wheels, with different center caps. Which is 100% true.

The rims pictures are not the production rims but the Legacy Tuned by STI and Forester Sports wheels. Either way, Subaru has been driving the cars around the NBR for months with many sets of photos.

The point of the photo was in response to the pictures of a mule at the NBR. Not all NBR cars are mules and my point of wait for NBR pics for a true to life version of the car was backed up.

Ah ha. I missed that. Was half asleep when I looked at that. Anyway, I do remember noticing that whether Subaru had it or Toyota had it, those were the wheels on it. And of course, THAT pic would say Toyota all over it.

There are already 2013 WRX's listed at dealerships near me as arriving fairly soon. My assumption is that the 2013 is the exact same as the 2012. Or about as different as the 2012 was from the 2013, which is to say some minor cosmetic things.

Too funny. Called it that the WRX will still use the impreza frame. Now everyone is acting all surprised.

Hey guess what- it's going to be better then the current WRX. It's lighter, will have DIT while giving more interior room. Hopefully the body gets some more changes cause it's a little lackluster and just like watching a re-run of the 08-10 WRX body style.

Also to the comments about a WRC car- they only need 500 cars made. Most likely they are going to make an altered version for Japan to enter it. Remember every Japanese car company makes something real nice for JDM that never gets made for the rest of the world. Just deal with it.

I like my 01 eclipse....of course it has 400 hp and some other goodies

This will have the potential to be better...they have to know better than to repeat the 08-09 WRX mistake. Seriously doubt it though...they are wanting to make as statement with this car and seperate it from the impreza...hard to do if it looks exactly like it with a hood scoop. Of course, how many people bought 2 cars? an 08 then a '11 or newer when they came out? Maybe it is a good move.

Subaru of Canada probably jumped the gun! The re-designed WRX could still be coming to the US for 2013!

KIDDING

But I wish. I'm nervous about the WRX re-design not getting here before my powertrain warranty expires in 20k mi. Even if we just get some hard confirmation about what's in the pipeline by next summer I could at least plan.

If there is only a sedan for the first year, or the hatch ends up being a micro-machine.. my new car hunt will be in rough shape.

Really what? I never made any prediction on what changes to the body it'll have, just that it will use the impreza frame, and it does. Again hopefully they do more changes to the body like wide body, little more aggressive front and rear. It's probably just a test mule for what's under neath all the sheet metal.
