Question SubySports.com (merged thread)

Just had Braden install my BPM GT exhaust....

I initially had problems with the wastegate getting stuck open from the tongue in the downpipe. Braden (owner) fixed things in an excellent manner, working past 7:00pm...

So, thanks Braden. And anyone else in Colorado, Braden *knows* his stuff - get your installs done by him.

He also sells stuff, so hit him up with requests @ Suby Sports

Mike (No, I don't work for him).

Talking Big Kudos to Suby Sports

Here's a little background...

My younger brother owns a 93 Toyota Corolla that my parents gave him. Despite all the advise my father and I gave him about owning and maintaining a car, he never quite grasped the concept of checking the fluids (i.e. engine oil). As we all know, an engine can only go so far without oil, and it died a loud painfull death. Unfortunately, I only knew of Subaru and Honda shops, and the only place that I could trust working on a Toyota was the dealership. They could only do short blocks (no internal engine repairs) and I'm sure the replacement job would've exceeded $4k, in which case I'll buy him a used car.

Insert Suby Sports, for some reason the last place I checked. As I said before, I only knew of Subaru tuners and they are about 60 miles away. So I called Braden to see if he could do it, and of course he could do it. At about this point I left all of the details up to my brother and my father to work out. About a month or so go by and we get the call that the car is ready.

Absolutely P-r-o-f-e-s-s-i-o-n-a-l! For a used Toyota engine (with about 50k miles), it looks and sounds excellent (I will post pictures as soon as possible). Even though they already new me, Braden and crew acted totally professional and courteous. I *highly* recommend Suby Sports to everyone.

Send your money there...

Question SubySports.com

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with Subysports.com. I ordered a stromung muffler and the only response i got was "payment accepted". That was a few days ago and i haven't received anything since, no tracking number or ETA, no response to my emails. I ordered through imprezars and i know larry is very reputable. Just wondering if someone has gone through this as well. Thanx

Suby Sports bought out www.Imprezars.com aka www.subaruplanet.com . So now they are exclusively SUBARUPLANET.COM. It seems it was for the best since now they have Larry Ganz to back them up.

Not so much... Whatever they go by now, they still have suck. Braden and Dani have no clue on customer communication or customer support. Just ask them about the 2 months it took to get me a intake for my Legacy GT and how I had to email them frequently (and even threaten them) to get any infomation out of them.

A big :monkey: to them!

Actually you are right...i ordered a Stromung muffler from them and it took over a month just to ship. I lost count of the emails i sent while the return emails could be counted on one, two hands. They had to re-order the part because it was "never received". Braden (not Brandon) and Dani aren't quick to respond but Larry IS. Although he is not in sales anymore and he has a health condition he IS helpful. Hopefully things shape up when their move is complete.

Yeah, things should be doing better soon, move is 99% done. Dani is gone, and Braden will focus on SubaruPlanet only, since he now shut down suby sports.

He was working 50-60 hours a week as a mechanic with his suby sports business, and it took away time for subaru planet. Now he only has Subaru Planet to deal with and will have more time.

As for the Stromung thing, we were at the mercy of Scott at Stromung who says the first order 10 deays earlier wasn't recieved. Then it took him 2 weeks to build and ship an SS exhaust.

The intakes were Jerrad the shipper's fault, he ships from the manufacturer and had his head up his butt. He is on his way out soon...

Sorry for the troubles

Larry

Hey Larry, no problem. Not your fault after all. But hopefully Braden can follow your lead and learn something about customer service. Now about the whole receipt issue... ... ...

Exclamation It's up to me again

Well,

As of 11/12/02 I am owner of SubaruPlanet again.

SubySports will handle the completion of all orders placed on or before 11/11/02 and I am taking all new orders from this point on. You can follow-up on your old orders at subysport@aol.com or 719-382-1939 for voice mail and fax.

New orders will go to me at orders@subaruplanet.com from this moment forward. As before, a copy of the emails will again go to my wireless PDA between 10am and 10pm mtn time, and I will respond promptly to orders and concerns when possible. I will be working with mental patients on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 5pm and will likely not be able to return calls then, but will try to return emails between patients. EMAIL is best to contact me.

I have updated the website's contact page with my mailing address and efax/voice mail number. I gave our old toll free number to Heuberger Motors Subaru a while back, but plan to set up a new toll free voice mail/fax number again soon.

I will need to re-register as a business tomorrow, and check the vendor status of SubaruPlanet.com here, but am contemplating calling the business ScoobyRacing.com or ScoobyPlanet.com since I will only be taking the subaruplanet.com domain name but not the business name back. I already own the other two domain names, as well as ScoobyLinks.com - credit card orders via phone and fax will still appear in my name.

Thanks for everyone's support and prayers,

Larry Ganz

Angry

Has anyone had any luck getting a response from Suby Sports?
Once I saw the post that any orders placed prior to Nov.12 would be handled by Suby Sports I needed to know if my order would be taken care of. I had ordered a Brullen Exhaust and had paid 617.00 for the product and shipping. Well after trying to call the number that no one picks up or left off of hook and sending unanswered emails I'm led to believe that my order that I was told was placed doesn't exist. I've even contacted Jack at iON Performance and he stated that he has not received any order from Suby Sport for the exhaust! So I ask again have any of you had any luck tracking Suby Sport down; let me know your secret.

Default add me to that list too

I ordered a ProEcm and paid $259.00 on 11/04/02 and have not heard a thing except from Larry, when I call the number for Braden I just get a fax answer and no response to my e-mails.

Angry subysport misrepresenting iON performance

This is a continuation of my previous post about not receiving my Brullen exhaust from subysport. During this time I have had several communications with Jack at iON performance and he has been very helpful. He stated that an order was never placed by subysport (subysport distrubutes in the U.S. for iON). Well, this week I finally receive an email from subysport stating that iON was returning the money to them and then they would return my money. Subysport was implying that iON dropped the ball not subysport. As I stated above no order was ever placed by subysport but they're are trying to save face by blaming iON. I still haven't received the refund that was promised!

This is sad to hear. I know Braden wants to refund or finish shipping items he sold prior to his closing down.

On a more positive note, I have a temporary toll free number for NEW orders at 877-816-8130. When not forwarding to my cell phone it goes to voice mail and fax .

Angry Hey now....let's stop and think....

If you have not heard what happend to Braden and his family you can catch up on this link below.

Yes, Dani was little help and didn't know what was going on most of the time, but I know Braden and Larry.

Braden was trying his best. I worked down the street from him and he was still there most nights long after I headed home.

For any of you out there who have ever tried to have your own business and had watch it fail, you know it sucks. It gets confusing, lawyers usually get involved, and it takes up a great deal of your time. Now top that off with a little personal tradgedy and maybe you can understand what was going on. Braden is a good man and not like many of the crooks out there. I'm sure once he has a chance to straighten out his life and the paperwork from his business, he and Larry will make everything right.

I know it sucks to have that much cash floating out there and no product, or to not get a receipt for your purchase. All I can say is try to be patient. Sometimes someone else's life can suck much worse than yours.

Unhappy braden/suby sport

pgdean thanks for directing me towards that message it helps explain much of what has happened with my order; understandably not really a priority in Braden's life. I can say this because I have had similar events in my life though I wish I had been aware much sooner all this concern over my exhaust would have taken a different path. Truthfully my frustrations were that I had a nasty experience with paypal trying to get a refund (30day clause, therefore refused not exceptions), not knowing where subysport/Braden had gone to and that the email I had received from Braden recently was misleading concerning iON Performance's role in this order. That being said knowing what he has gone through and is still going through I can be for more tolerant and I hope that I have not offended anyone with these posts.

Default Ok

I don't mean to be a jerk, and I definitely feel awful about the tragedies of what Braden and his family have been thru. But if he is unable to fulfil orders placed with him, then could we at least get a courtesy e-mail saying that he is unable to do this and offer to refund our money? I've received 1 e-mail saying he missed my order and would get more ProECM's that afternnon and ship mine out ASAP. That was dated 12/11/02. It is the only e-mail I have received from Braden since my initial order on 11/4. I figure I can wait until 1/13/03 before I start to think about some other course of action. Thanks for hearing my frustration I would also like to add that Larry has answered every e-mail I have sent in a very timely fashion, and I would definitely order from him. Any chance Braden could give the money to you and you send me the ProECM?

Since I have posted three times concerning my missing order from Subysport I will give Braden some credit. I received a check from Subysport for the full amount just a few days ago; which is good since I ordered the exhaust directly from iON Performance and got it within 2 weeks!
