Default Looking into 255/45/R17 Winter Style AS

Long story short, its that time of year again. I've got some 17x9's that I'm going to be running on my 2012 STI, and I've been thinking of going to a 255/45 to protect the wheels a bit more, as fill the wheel wells a bit more on stock height(or lift 1"). I've been looking around, and can only seem to find a few tires in the 255/45/17 size, and after searching NASIOC, I haven't seen anyone running this size.

I'm partial to Nokian WRG2 tires, however they do not come in this size, but the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus do.

These would be my all around tires for slushy/wet winter(35-40degrees average), and then for summer highway driving, does anyone have experience with how well these would wear compared to the Nokians(50k treadlife).

Any thoughts on this tire size?

Tooo big for winter tires. You want as small as you possibly can.

I'm not looking for a full on winter tire. These would be a winter/gravel biased high performance all season. They'd see snow 5% and rain 50%, gravel 10%, bare dry roads the rest.
