I swapped out a clicking CV axle. I killed it within 6 months! I'm so proud. Lol. Thankfully I got the lifetime warranty brand, it shouldn't cost me a dime, just time.
My buddy Jeff and I also fabbed up some mounts for my fog lights. Gotta have better lighting for drive, it was terrible last time. Still gotta do my oil change and finish a few wiring things before my road trip too. |

Sure, It's easy on mine, with the pin in the inner axle. I can change one out in about 30 minutes if everything goes smoothly. Next week we could probably knock it out in an evening. Do you have a garage? Or access to one? We could probably use my office if nothing else, would have to be after 8 or so though, when they pull the trucks outside again.
Edit: A quick search shows me that yours would be just about the same, with the female splined inner axle, with a roll pin. No problem. ![]() |

I have a garrage, and a ton of lazyness. (remember how long it took to do the motor in the sti?) I'm waiting for it to snap and yatazee all over to do anything....
I'm not sure what one it is, or for sure if the clicking is the axles, hence why I contacted you about a new tranny too... then I started to plan the swap and started to look for a 6 speed and or a built 5 speed. Blah, distracted, where did you lift the pic from? |

The pic is from a clutch swap DIY write up. I'll find the link, I've got it save as a .pdf on my computer too. I've got a 99 wagon that I need to swap transmissions on. Figured I should read up on the details.

Thanks to Element Automotive for installing:
- MB Quart components in the front doors - Auto-dimming mirror with compass (red letters!) - White LED turn signals front and rear (with resistors) - Master cylinder brace - Red footwell illumination For myself, I put on my custom armrest that I got from Australia. Matches the interior PERFECTLY and fits so snug in the cupholder area (but you have to remove the cupholder). Next mods in the next week or two will be: - Kartboy rear shifter bushing - Driver keyhole delete - GT-86 knee pads (console and door), rear passenger seats cover (divider between passengers), red leather door sill and red door handles.
