Still cheaper than buying one up here, and probably in better condition.

What's a few thousand more miles? An extra day and a half or two, depending on drivers.

I'm not roadtripping this year. That's for 2014. This year I'm going to California for a family reunion in May, then New York with friends in October.

Plus this year I want to focus on autox, checking out Alaska and hiking.

Same here. Let me know if you want company or what you have planned, I've lived here my entire life and never really done anything.

I'll letcha know! I know my co-worker wants to take me fishing at least once.

I also want to visit the gun range to help with my apprehension towards guns. Not a high priority, though.

I mostly want to cruise up the Glenn to the Richardson. I did that December 2010 and it was gorgeous.

This summer I'll have a car that's in excellent working order and money to burn on gas, so I'm excited for summer.

For the now, I wish it would snow. It's been trying here and there.

Well he said for me to bring it in so he can look at it and make a cash offer or we can work out a trade. He was very foreign and worked for continental auto group.

Not to be an ass (and I understand the reasoning), but I still find it ironic that ICE racing was cancelled because there wasn't enough SNOW.

For those that don't know already:

The Star Specs are being replaced. Lets see if the new ones are better.
Also might be able to buy the "old" ones at discounted prices.

No true story! My husband went out to big lake on the snowmachine last weekend and he said there was barely was snow on the lake.

By all accounts, the new compound not only grips better, it has longer life and heat cycling durability. The tires are due out in March-ish due to some delays according to my sources. That is why I've been holding off.

That's good to hear. I might try a set of these if the compound is also lighter.

I just bought two sets of Trico Force a few months ago. I am impressed so far. Even when cold, they seem to work well. I wouldn't normally spend that much but I did get a $10 rebate on each pair.

My OT post... bist drei

Wipers: I've run the generic "Anco" or whatever's for a few years in the past on my "hand me down" and college cars with success, then moved onto the more recent "european" style Bosch Icon and was happy with them overall. This past fall however, I was in need of new wipers (only after 1.5 years for Icon's) and ran across some Goodyear versions in a similar design at 1/2 price. So far I am liking them, not sure on longevity.

Undercovers: Nope, not talking under the blankets here... the other night on the way home I am almost positive I saw a new undercover for the ASD (or APD) on the glenn. It was a current generation (2011ish) Silver GMC siearra Quadcab with a cap over the bed. Had the standard ~18" silver slim CB antenna, light bar at the top of the rear caps window, and lightbar up front. Not 100% sure, but the lowboy/wide load runners dont try to hide/incorporate their **** like this. (i.e. I could be wrong, but dont think I am)

Auto-x/Tana-x/Ice racing experience: Id like to thank the many years I have particiapted in the various clubs Auto-x and ice racing to hone my skills and help me better learn overall car control. This weekend while coming back from the Fiance's family's place at the glacier, I was making a sweeping left bend when suddenly a **** ton of snow became present in the form of snow drifts, of which I plowed into/though. the car slid from side to side and visibilty became... well, nill. At one point I was sure we were leaving the road. Thanks to many years giving me opportunities of feeling when a car is planted, or isn't... and with minimal corrections and a cool head I was able to traverse the massive snow drift without incident.

Looking to see if anyone could lend me a hand and garage on installing my suspension. I have tools, breaker bars, and a torch kit and I wouldn't think it would take too long if two or more people helped me on this. Would appreciate it. Thanks. Pm or call/text 907 512 7064.
